Your NHL 02-03 Playoff Bracket

Normally I'm a bit of a perfectionist. But because I couldn't find one I could use, I had to learn how to use Visio, and make my own bracket. I started this at 3:15. lol

so, it is Not pretty. but, it'll work. I promise ;)

It's just a .bmp, I didn't have time to make something that you could fill out online, which was the plan.

What you should do, is PM your picks to Shell or Me.
Along with your picks, make a note how many games you think each series will go, incase of the need for tiebreakers. (ie- Philly wins, in 6. TB in 5, etc.)

Shell will then make a spreadsheet for everyone's picks, and I'm assuming we can post leader updates after each round.

I guess this is a 'for bragging rights only' thing. if anyone is interested in making a donation, and we can give away the 'proceeds', let me know. ;)

Is there a posting of how the 'bragging rights' will be decided? Is predicting the winner all that counts.. or is it a "4 points for a correct winner, minus a point for each missed/extra game" type system?

Yes...All teams have to win 4 games...To select 4 means you think the team will sweep the other game. All of us that had 5 should be the winners...We're not saying we our pick will win 5 games, but win the best of 7 series (win 4 games) in 5 games...

I've been wondering about the second round picks myself. I've been thinking about what guyute said at the beginning about it being more challenging picking though the end. The fairest way, of course, would be if you picked the Ducks to lose (that would be everyone except Mean Gene and Stormbringer) then you can't pick them to win the next round. However, the part of me that is having great fun watching these games would rather be able to pick the Ducks to beat the Stars (presumably) even though it may not be "fair." What does everyone think?

Oops - I didn't realize we were supposed to pick how many games we thought the series would go. So much for my bracket...

As far as the picking all the way through goes, I don't see how that's feasible given the reseeding; it's not like the NCAA bracket, so I think we should re-pick each round using the teams that are left. But that's just me :)

I think, based on the feedback we have gotten, that once round 2 starts, everyone should be able to pick whichever team they want, regardless of who they picked in the last round.

If i remember correctly, the way it was done on ncpen.net last year was 2 points for getting the correct team, with one bonus point for getting the right number of games. Not that ncpen.net is necessarily the model to which you should hold this bracket, but just a little input.

I don't think their archives go that far back, but i'll go take a peek.

I say Ducks in 6. They clinch the cup at home. Though I would prefer to see them pull of a sweep I just don't see anyway that is going to happen. I do however see them winning in 6 games. I've got tickets to game 7 in New Jersey but to be honest I really don't want to have to attend that game if say.....the Ducks were ahead 3-2 in the series with a chance to close it out at home but the Devils pulled out a close on there and thus have momentum going into game 7. I would much rather see a very emotional game 6 win at home for the Ducks with all the yelling, screaming, dancing, confetti falling, etc. that accompanies a home team winning the cup.

On the other hand, I will be more than happy to attend game 7 if say.....the Devils were up 3-1 in the series and the Ducks then go on to win the next 2. Then it would be a bit intriguing...

Either way, I just don't want New Jersey to win the cup this year. Sorry fans of New Jersey and Ducks haters (Rio you know who you are : ;) )

Grand Cayman mon. Bring DOUGH. the Cayman dollar is about $.20 on the dollar stronger than the US dollar. it was a very expensive trip. and I mean Expensive. $40 (US) for a case of crap beer.

$300 for a dinner for 4. Granted, we ate at some stellar restaurants... but still, $150 a couple is hard on the ole wallet after a week.

I'd highly recommend that island over any other I've seen. simply fantastic. plus, cuban cigars for the price that I pay for my fave dominican brand :spin:
and the water clarity is the best in the world. fantastic diving/snorkeling.

I'm ready to go back. and I'm very bummed to be sitting here at work, looking at the sunset on the Caribbean.

That is right Shell...you know when thinking about what you said, just think about how many women are actually in here, what the practices look like and the arena at game time!!!! :eek2: :evil: ;) Do other teams have the female following that our Canes do?? I have never been to an away game..but hope to soon...but at looking at the crowds on tv, it looks like a bunch of fellas filling the seats to me!! :roll:
