caniacmaniac...great to meet ya!! :spin:

It was great meeting you all, too. Now I can put a few faces with names. You all are definitely a crazy bunch but a lot of fun. Hope to see you at some games and practices in the fall.

So I guess Paige didn't get up and crawl over the glass and "let her eggs out"?

And Paige is your pet spider....right? :smoke:

*laughing so hard she can hardly type*

Mona, you want to explain this one?

Oh I have a sneaking suspicion that SHC knows exactly what you are talking about. ;) The decryption of her post is: "to prevent handslapping, you may want to tell us more about it in the Ladies thread". Am I close SHC?

i know some people were thinking of not going today, but all i'm gonna say is COME ON, IT'S THE LAST ONE! heck, i'm going and i didn't go to bed until 3 this morning, either. i'm interested in seeing kevyn at his first practice in a while, and also seeing whether or not bruno skates -- it did not look too good yesterday.

hope to see some of y'all there. :)

I'm definately going to be there. :)

Quick question- My little sister is interested in getting Irbe's autograph.. about how long does it take for the guys to shower, get dressed and come out? Does Irbe usually stay to sign/pose for pictures? Any answers would be appreciated.

for irbe, your best bet is to get him either when he comes off the ice or goes to the shower from the locker room. lately he's been leaving out the back way after the shower so you waited until then, you'd be waiting a long time for nothing. lately though he's been signing a lot and he's really nice to kids. :)

While I had a great experience with all of the Canes I got autographs from a week ago yesterday, Irbe was one that really stuck out. When I told the dudes "Thank you!" for signing my stuff, most of them would simply say "You're welcome." in either a tired or hurried tone (Which was practically understandable coming from men who had just come off a good and hard workout and more than likely wanted to get home and chill or play a round of golf.). But Irbe said his "You're welcome!" in a very kind tone. Just like the majority of his teammates, it was nice to see Irbe sign everything being held up to him. :spin:

BTW, looking forward to knowing about the final practice...

good practice today, there actually weren't that many kids there. jaro, jesse, and brendl all had on the yellow jerseys. they did a lot of shooting drills and breakaway-type drills. weekes was not there but that reczone goalie was, as was irbe.

i heard defauw was there, but did not skate. same for bruno. i didn't see him in person because i was by the ice but he (bruno) came out to the lobby in street clothes and my friend saw him and asked him if he would play tomorrow and he said yes. lots of the guys ducked out the back though (after the first run through the lobby), including the baby canes (shameful!).

all in all the guys seemed in a good mood. i had a small quest today and did not fulfill it so i may have to go to the pregame skate tomorrow. not that i'm complaining or anything... :D

Hyena pretty much covered it all. This was only my second practice so I don't know what the "usual" drills are, but yes, a lot of breakaway and rebound type drills. The guys seemed in a good mood overall and it was a good practice. Wallin and Tomas Malec seemed to joke around a lot and it was fun to watch them.

I actually thought Irbe did pretty well in practice today. I asked him about his hand and he said it was broken and he had his fingers wrapped up(He might always do that though- I never notice.) You guys were right, Irbe is indeed nice to the kids. He signed my sister's jersey and she was in smiles for the whole way home and probably still is, lol. ;) Ahh, the little things that make a big difference.

I did see Brad Defauw there and as Hyena said, he didn't skate. I didn't see Bruno though, but also heard me was there. Many of the Baby Canes snuck out the back way after going through the lobby once. It kind of surprised me a bit, actually. :p

everyone else summed it up well. I brought my nephew with me and he really enjoyed it. We stayed for about 15 minutes after and got 10 signatures for his jersey (a birthday present he just got today). He told all the players it was his birthday and they were all very nice. I did have to laugh when he asked "why is o'neill sitting and eating breakfast on the ice when everyone else is stretching", of course, that was better than when Coach Mo was walking up and he asked what I thought about him LOL.
Not much else, was surprised by how little Radim is.. Was good to see Cole there, though I prefer him on the ice ;) Jan was not in an injured jersey and looked pretty good. Jesse and Jaro seemed to do well too. brendl still looked to be in pain. saw Ronnie joking around several times.
I didn't think it was crowded at all. We got there right as it started and had no problem getting a spot on the glass

Pre-game skate tomorrow is from 9-10AM. The lady said that as far as she knew it was open (didn't say closed on her schedule), and that the Islanders are practicing from 8-9AM.

thanks for the times kat!!!..i don't know if I can go, my ride says it's too early

My ride (me) says that it is too early too, but I think that I might get up anyhow. :p :D

So caniac369, guin, and I should be there. Then we plan on perhaps setting up the tailgating camp towards the back of the west lot, over in the grass, where much mayhem will then ensue. :spin:

thanks for getting those times, kat! i'll be there bright and early at 9, i guess. i know i'll see y'all there. :D a question -- coming in that early -- do they make you pay to park? if not, can you just stay there in the same spot to tailgate and not ever pay?

Well, you have to have that little slip of paper they give you... I would imagine that when the people come in to set up for parking, they will come over and make us pay then. But I am not entirely certain.

9AM.....means I have to leave my house at about 8AM. Hmmmm.......it's 1AM now. Hmmmmmmm. 9-10 and then we'd want to be back up at the RBC for tailgating probably by 1 at the latest. Hmmmm.

Have to think about this....but I'll probably try to take in the pre-game. After all, I never have before!

um...yeah. so the pregame skate was closed today. (thanks for waving me down in the parking lot, SHC) my big complaint concerns the fact i got 5 hrs sleep -- i feel bad for SHC and Jeff O Rocks, both of them drove a long way only to see locked RBC doors.  oh well, guess we have to wait until this afternoon.

i'm excited about this game but i'm also dreading it, in a way. i think i'm in denial that it's the last one...i'm really trying not to think about it too much.

Nice to see Jeff O and hyena in the parking lot this morning. Too bad we couldn't get in. Now I'm going on about 4 hours sleep for nothing. Oh well....it was worth taking a shot at one last practice. See y'all at the game!
