We have Detroit and Dallas, etc. in the West, but teams like Ottawa and New Jersey in the East.

Does the East have a shot this year? The only team to win it from the East since New Jersey in 95 was New Jersey again in 00.

Does the east have a shot? Maybe, but a long one at that. The only team up to calibur with the top teams in the West is Ottawa, and even that may be a stretch. There will be little competition from the east unless Ottawa is in the finals. Dallas, Colorado, and Detroit all have great shots of getting to the finals....Ottawa might take a series to 6 or 7 games but I really don't think they can win.

Prove me wrong, East. Prove me wrong.

I have to go with the typical Western Conference powerhouse possibility, although I wouldn't be surprised at an Eastern Conference Cinderella upset.

I said East because of the following:

1) Detroit's goaltending is not as good this year.
2) Ottawa is on a roll.
3) I REALLY REALLY like New Jersey's chances; Brodeur is on fire.
4) I don't think Colorado is up for the challenge this year; Detroit could beat them; Minnesota might give them a run for their money.
5) It's about freakin' time for the East to make a showing.

I would just like to show everyone that I am a hockey genius by reminding them of why I chose the East to win this year... :D ;)
