I am getting one of these for my computer. My question is whether or not I can burn the shows on to DVD. I would like to record NC State games and Canes games and be able to save them to DVD. Anyone know if I can do it straight out of the computer or have to convert the shows into different types of files?

of course you can!.. have you gotten the card yet? most come with software so you can "tivo" stuff. If it doesnt... there is open source stuff out there that will let you. It will probably save as an MPEG2 file and you can use Nero or Roxio(whatever you use), to burn to a dvd.

If you havent gotten it yet read the packaging to see if software is included. Im looking at one that connects to computer via usb, and has the mpeg2 encoder built in so your computer isnt slown down.

I hope that answers your question. pm me if you need clarifications or more info.

Well I have not gotten it yet. I was too busy printing off some sedding (i mean ceremony) pictures that I had taken for a woman and her woman at work. I installed a DVD burner and a DVD player and can not get the burner to burn some pictures to a DVD. Not sure what the problem is, but I think I am going to take both of them back and get a new computer this weekend. Maybe they wll throw in a free TV tuner. :spin:

BTW, the one I posted above is only $29.99 at Wal-Mart.
