Anyone have a cheap car seat in good condition

There is a lady whose kid goes to my work and she really needs one for him. It is old and I do not know how safe it is. Anyway, if anyone has a cheap one, let me know and I will probably buy it. The child just turned 4 and is about 38 lbs.

be very careful buying used car seats. lots of them are recalled for safety issues, and you'd have no way of knowing if a recall has been done on a used seat.

I know buying used is sometimes unavoidable.. just needed to mention to be careful. I'll let you know if I see any in my browsing.

also, it can easily be missing a piece and it isn't obvious until it doesn't work right in a crash. Did you see the recent news story with the boy who was thrown from his in the accident because of this? They also should never be used again once they have been in a crash and there is usually no way to know for sure. car seats are one thing that need to be purchased new. Best of luck!

you're never s'psed to buy a used car seat ... matter of fact, you're s'psed to replace any seat that's been in an accident, and with used one's it's tough to know if they have been. Be VERY careful...

The car seats at Wal-mart for older todlers arent that bad. I just bought one not too long ago, it was only 19.99. :D
