Found this on ebay. I don't recall my eastern conference finals tickets looking like these... but I do remember the memento ticket holder coming with these cardboard inserts that look alot like what they have in the frame. Did any of you get tickets that looked like these?

Section, row and seat number on tickets look suspiciously like the date they gave out those memento tickets, right? Not actual seat numbers. The signatures look legit and so does the Canes Letter of authenticity, but i don't remember these as being real tickets.

Haha - good catch AP.

Notice the seat location. Section 5.16 Row 20, Seat 02.

Sounds suspiciously like a date to me.

You're correct no commemorative REAL tickets for the ECF, only the SCF. Why would the Canes send along a COA for those? Calling them SCF tickets??

I like how the seller thinks that some of autographs are from Jeff O'Neal, Kevin Adams, and Shawn Hill.

holy crap:
In an effort to Expedite your checkout process and to get your item to you as quickly as possible, Bidder needs to pay $37.29 shipping and handling. Your item will be shipped via DHL, which allows us to provide tracking. Please allow 5 to 7 days for delivery-rural areas may take longer.

That's a lot of money to ship some fake tickets slowly!

That's more than enough to have purchased a REAL ticket to an ECF game!

I don't know what kills me more...how someone trying to sell Canes memorabilia, real or fake, can misspell those names or that $37.29 S&H.

:-P

i thought the tickets were like pooey lil stubs... at least the one game i went to had them (the seats were season ticket seats of a friend the did have the regular cool lookin ones during season)

way to lodge a complaint :-P

also yeah cant be real b/c the whole sheet had the same section seat etc... thik about it there can only be a max of 4 games per series at one arena... now why would a whole sheet be printed for one seat.

just further evidence not that we needed it

My problem with the item is that if the Hurricanes really sold this item with a letter of authenticity, this cheapens every item I've bought from canes charity auctions... the LOA misrepresents the item, so every item I have with their LOA comes into question  Any validity to a Hurricanes LOA has just gone out the window.

If they gave this LOA out for this item they need to scrutinize what they say on them a little better. These aren't even from the Stanley cup finals, they are from the eastern conference finals. If someone tries to sell a game used ron francis jersey on ebay and their only proof is a Hurricanes LOA, this auction alone makes you question the authenticity of the item. The only real authentic items are proven only if you get it off the back of the player or from Wally Tatomir. The letter of authenticity is not even protected from duplication.

They could have been missprints that the Canes decided to use as an auction item? Perhaps the date got printed in the section spot? Though 5-16 seems like a pretty late date to me.

These were decorative tickets and ticket holder. You can see the close up that says "Commemorative Ticket Presented by Progress Energy." I still have mine on the dresser together with the ticket holder. They all listed the same section (section 5.16 which is not a real section) row 20, seat 02. I agree apolinar, if that is a real COA that's pretty dissapointing. If the certificate is a fake, the Canes should do something about that.

If you notice, the COA only acknowledges the validity of the signatures, not the tickets themselves. Still, that's too much negative feedback in too short an amount of time for my comfort.

I guess to me "Stanley Cup Tickets" implies tickets to the Stanley Cup Finals not tickets with a picture of the Stanley cup.

And they're not even tickets. They are freebie-giveaway-ticket-holder inserts. They're as valuable as the inserted, fake pictures you get when you buy picture frames. They don't even deserve the moniker "ticket". They are pseudotickets. Faux tickets. Ticket Alter Egos. Ticket Wannabe's. They are the Milli Vanilli of tickets.

If they could then I'd pay the shipping fee. Just as long as they don't sing country music. Gurl, you know it's true.

Well, the final bid, of which there was only 2, was $36.00. I guess poorrudy and kingdome1964 were the only suckers to fall for it.

The "reserve" price was not met, so the seller will either have to lower the price or realize that they aren't fooling many people.
