The Boston Bruins retired Ray Borque's number even though he retired as an Avalanche, so I see no problem with retiring Ronnie Franchise's 10. Of course, the Canes could always sign Ronnie to a one day contract, just like the Pens did with Tom Barrasso.

The NY Mets retired #41 in honor of Tom Seaver (my boyhood idol). Tom last played for the Boston Red Sox in 1986 where they, ironically, lost the World Series to the Mets. What was one of Tom Terrific's nicknames? - "The Franchise". :)

The Hurricanes will retire Ron's #10, no doubt, or they have no class whatsoever.

Ah, I love when people get to decide who has class and who doesn't. But I'll refrain from throwing in my 2 cents about classy behavior.

I think they will retire his number, I just hope that when the day comes, we'll all care.
