I know this isn't suprising news, but i just saw on WRAL TV 5 that it is definite that Archie will never again play as a hurricane. the plan is to make weekes #1 and have deroscher back him up.

Well, there you go...i know i'm miserable
I just hope things only start to look up for Archie.

Meaning he won't also play in Lowell? I'd love to know the details (but I know from your post at ch.com you only caught part of it).

he has to think now. he has to make the right decision. the right decision is to rework his contract.

  , You gotta feel bad for him...I mean we would never have gotten as far as we did last year without him, he's done a lot for us.

But his time has come with this franchise. I wish him the best in the future. He'll be a very good backup for a good team. Maybe he'll hoist the iron one day.

The Lowell Lock Monsters of Lowell Massachusetts are our farm team in the AHL.
Here's their site: www.lockmonsters.com
You should check out the Canes site too. There is a lot of helpful info about the team and the game there.
Can't speak for everyone but it doesn't bother me if you ask questions. How else you gonna learn? :)

The only stupid question is the one you don't ask, right?

And as far as cutting ties goes... that's all jolly wonderful if the Canes want to cut ties with Archie, but my Beatles ties are strictly off limits. Punks.

Although we all knew that this was the way it was going to be, it just now seems so final...

I agree...when it is situations dealing with those that we care about, regardless about what has been said, you always hope for a positive end...in this case..we didn't get it!!

There can still be a positive end. Irbe can go and be a very productive and happy backup for a contender to win the iron if he would be content to be the #2.

This could still work out for the best for both parties...just a shame that it couldn't work out together.

Archie failed to distinguish himself in any of the numerous chances he was given last season. Even in the last game against the Isles, he let in a soft goal. Panger was all over him for it.

Thing is, when you spend 2.5 million, you need to get ... something. Much as I like Archie, his play did not justify his actions with the press. He started the "play me or tade me" act BEFORE Weekes got hurt against Detroit...when Weekes was one of the top 3 'minders in the league.
