I wondered if anyone know exactly how that contest worked, in terms of winning and getting the packet to go to the ice. I entered a bunch of the drawings and don't remember putting my seat location at all. I figure they must have drawn them earlier and contacted the people and figured out where they were sitting.
BUT, what if they didn't have tickets to that game, since you didn't have to be a season ticket holder. Did they win tickets too? That would have sucked for them to call and say, if you have tickets to this game, you get a jersey, but if not, too bad! Some of the people they showed on the jumbotron didn't look very excited to win, so I assumed they may have known ahead of time.
I also heard a rumor that Ron Francis' jersey was going to a rep of Sony Ericcson and it was arranged.
Just wondered if anyone here won or knew someone who one and knew how it all worked out. I left the game thinking for sure that it must have been a scam, but I hope that it was all legitimite and I just wasn't lucky enough. Who am I kidding though, I probably would have passed out on the ice from excitement and caused a big commotion!

I don't know how it all worked and who was responsible for selecting the winners. Guess you could send an email to someone at CH.com and see if they respond. Weren't there only few of the players that you had to sign up at specific games to win a jersey?

There are always rumors. Why wouldn't a Sony rep just ask if he wanted a Francis jersey? They are big sponsors.

I really don't know, but I suspect STHs. There was someone in the section next to us that got an envelope and when the Storm Squad chickie came down the aisle, it appeared she was asking for a name rather than a seat number and the young person that was the winner responded. I just don't think they were asking are you Section 125, Row S, seat 8 and if those weren't your normal seats, that you would know your seat location off the top of your head. They didn't have to produce a ticket. And what if you had squatters in the seats?

I think the 8 (or however many) specific jerseys were done differently. I think you were going to be contacted in advance and given 2 tickets to the game too. Perhaps in response to the not-so-random nature of how the bulk of them were given away in the past?

I would be curious to know how it's done. The winners I saw on the Jumbotron didn't look all that excited. I know we'd have been extremely happy if one of us won it.

I do remember the form asking for phone number and email address. In the past, didn't it ask for seat location if you were a STH? So, maybe the winners of the specific jerseys were contacted in advance. 3 years ago it was a random selection from all the seats which was fun. I guess the new system is the price of increased popularity :)

I would have been very excited to win any of them......except for Stormy!

At select games you would sign up at a kiosk for a specific jersey drawing. We entered the contest for a Brind'Amour jersey and I think, O'Neill (we didn't win) The winners were contacted ahead of time; the guy who won Kevin Weekes' jersey knew it the week before. I assume that if they didn't have tickets to the game they were given tickets--folger's dad won the 7th Man contest and they gave him tickets to be at that game.

Hope that helps.

Right. But they only did that for certain players. Just the big names - I think there were 8 or 9.

The winners I saw on the Jumbotron didn't look all that excited. I know we'd have been extremely happy if one of us won it.

Me three! I may not have been able to speak intelligently, but I would've had the biggest smile on my face, no matter who's jersey I wound up with! :D
