The Ice Cats won last night 3-2. Both Lock Monsters goals came from on the power play, the first coming from Ryan Bayda. Brad Fast assisted on both.

Wish there was a radio feed, but I guess we'll have to sit tight til the regular season starts. *sigh* Game time is 4pm.

4 goals, and 12 points credited to Lowell players...and so far, none go to Carolina prospects...

Craig Kowlaski is in goal...

Edit: but only 3 Carolina prospects in the game...Ziggy, Richmond, and Forbes.

Lock Monsters play again tonight; I'm really interested in seeing these shoot outs- it's gonna be different for sure....... I'm bummed too that there aren't any radio feeds- but the season is just days away, so I can wait. I have a cool Staal v Staal article from the Peterborough papers (Marc v Jordan) over the weekend. I'll post in the proper (?) thread....

I hate to say it but the flames prospects are better than the canes prospects, there are also more of them. Monsters jumped out to a 4-1 lead (maybe 4-2) because the Worcester goalie (sanford - st. louis guy) was not on his game. To credit the team, they beat him high glove side 3 out of 4 times. By the second period, Sanford was back to his old self. Konowalski (sp) looked very good. Solid, steady, quick feet, controlling rebounds, confident. Centomo (backup) must have been stretching or something because he didn't appear on the bench until half way through the game. By the 3rd period, the worcester forwards had racheted it up and Centomo was in net. He got beat low and in the crease from what I could see.

Personally, I liked the 4 on 4 OT period. More open ice, more creativity and more risk. I also liked the shootout. They rotate each teams players, 5 at a time and if those 5 don't break the tie, they keep going. It's definitely interesting to watch and much better than settling for the boring OT period, win/loss.

Many of the players in that game were monster signings and calgary prospects. Staal, Bayda, Fast, Curry, Ward, St. Jaques did not play. I don't know who is playing tomorrow, I am not going.

Monster games are on the radio beginning 10/16 and Ryan Johnston does a good job. He even announces scratches which is not done at the rink. ggrrrrrr
