Thanks just for reading. Thanks if you donate. The canes kids and community foundation have already donated 2 pucks and a hockey stick for me to auction off for this cause and hope you can help.

Hello all friends, family, and colleagues:
As you may know I am heavily involved with a local non-profit organization, U Care, Inc., a domestic violence advocacy program in my town, Clinton, NC. Some of you may know directly the great work they do in helping victims of domestic violence through the shelter and court advocacy, and in helping abusers through abuser treatment programs. For the last few years we have attempted to get a contingency fund going in order to have money during periods of financial shortfall, but we have had more clients than the money could handle over the last few years that that has never gotten off the ground. Were glad were educating the public and more people are coming forward for our services, but the more successful we become, the more a shortfall can hurt us.
This week U Care is at the point that we are unable to make payroll for our staff. As grants go, sometimes they get delayed in government red tape, delays in disbursement, or get cut out from under us altogether when government budgets get cut. U Care is currently waiting for a grant to come through that was supposed to be paid to our organization 2 months ago. We have not received confirmation when this grant will come in.
When we cant make payroll, we run the risk of losing our valuable and well trained staff. Our staff are our greatest asset, and they dont deserve to wonder when their next paycheck is coming to take care of their basic needs. Most of all, our clients have the most to lose in this situation, especially if we dont have the staff to maintain our crisis line, or to assist someone trying to escape an abusive or life-threatening situation.
My request is this. Ive seen successful email fundraising campaigns before and have actually contributed based on some of these campaigns. If you could, please donate whatever you can, whether it be pennies to pounds, to U Care so that we can get this contingency fund started and to get us through this time until the grant comes in. I also ask that you take my email and blast it to as many of your email and friend contacts as possible. However, when you forward it, please add a message at the top that tells the recipient that this message is totally legitimate and a worthy cause, and THAT YOU KNOW ME PERSONALLY, and how you know me, just to encourage people to consider their donation. By doing that you will make this message stand out from the regular requests and junk that our email gets bogged down in.
More importantly, Please make donations using this webpage. http://www.ucaredv.com/donations.html You can donate through Paypal directly or by credit card, or mail-in checks. We also have the ability to accept portions of ebay auctions now through Missionfish on ebay, and the details are on the donation webpage. EVERY donation will receive an in-kind form for your tax purposes, no matter how small. My goal is to have this email spread so far and wide that we have a $40,000 contingency fund by the end of next year. Please let us know your name and address where you would like your in-kind form sent. Our mailing address is :
U Care, Inc.
Attn: donations
P.O. Box 761

I myself have pledged 100 dollars every month for the last 3 years and will continue to do so because I know they need all the help they can get. Ive donated the webspace for their website and payed for the domain name, and hope that all this work will come together now when we need it most.
If people would like to see our financials, you can go to guidestar at this address to see our 990 IRS form to prove we are a legitimate non profit organization in need of your financial help right now.

Hey all,
Thanks to everyone's generosity my Domestic Violence program is back on track and serving nearly 4 new survivors of domestic violence daily and didn't have to shut down operations. We are nowhere close to the 40,000 contingency fund goal however. So we are having a new fundraiser: a reverse drawing for 5000 dollars!!!
You do not need to be present to win, but with your ticket you get a catered buffet dinner for 2 at the Sampson County Agri-expo center on February 11th. There will be a silent auction and door prizes as well, and a 100 dollar cash drawing for each person that brings a canned good or paper products for the shelter that evening. C'mon, you know you always wanted to see Clinton close to Valentine's day!
We are only selling 300 tickets to this event, so your chances are 1 in 300 to be the 5000 dollar winner. Tickets are 100 dollars each and you can send me a check if interested in helping our organization. Please PM me through the board if you are interested and I'll contact you immediately to see how you would like me to send you your ticket and arrange payment. Please Please Please Please help!!!! (yes, I've resorted to begging. But it's for a very good cause).
And here's an extra added bonus for you LGCers... the first 5 people to purchase a ticket from me will get a puck taken from the ice from the actual game where Ronnie Francis passed Maurice Rocket Richard in the career goals scored list! (Yes, the ones that I've been putting in ebay and the flea market) It comes with certification paperwork from Meigray and are tagged with a hologram to certify authenticity. I have a copy of the game too so you can see your puck while it is being used on TV!!!! I will answer pm's in the order they are received, so hurry with your response!!! Hope to see you in Clinton on Feb. 11th!

No, but I can samba with the best of them, and would love to go to Carnival next month, and like those cheesey filled breads you have, and cheer on Ronaldo when he's on the field. Have friends in Sao paulo.

Last call for all you generous LetsgoCanes.comers out there who are interested in helping my charity.
This friday we are having a reverse drawing. need not be present to win. But we are selling 300 tickets at 100 bucks a piece, winner gets 5000 grand. Each ticket comes with a dinner for two this Friday at 630pm at the lavish plush Sampson Agri expo center in Clinton north Carolina. (Ok, not that nice but what can I do). Dinner is carved beef with the guy with the white hat and big knife and chicken
All proceeds going to my domestic violence program. This is last call for tickets, and if you would like you can send the money to me by paypal and I'll submit your ticket. Just pm me if interested.
Need not be present to win, but Run That a way and Canezilla will be there, so why not come? I know, the penguins are playing the canes then, but it's for charity. We are giving away some canes memorabilia as door prizes and have some items for silent auction too if anyone is interested in bidding from afar, including two tickets and a game used puck from Ron Francis's historic night passing Maurice Richard in goals scored.
PM me if interested!

If you all watched WRAL, our event will be held in the same venue that the welcome party for Willie Parker (the Steelers Running Back) was held. My wife was at Walmart today and his mom was in front of her in line and gave her a picture of her son for a souvenier. It's so cute how proud she is of him. Don't you wanna eat in a town where Willie Parker grew up :)
