Holy crap. I can't believe my Heels did what State failed to do in beating the Miami freakin' Hurricanes. But yet, I somewhat can believe it...when State lost last week, something inside me said "UNC is going to do it.".
Helluva birthday gift, and my birthday hasn't even started yet. :D :cool:

An awesome fact about this game: This was one tier of a major trifecta that has not happened since 1978...the defeat of all three major Florida schools.
Besides UNC beating Miami, Georgia won over Florida (the first time the Bulldogs beat the Gators in fourteen tries) and Maryland triumphed over Florida State (for the very first time EVER).
Edit - My brother FINALLY reminded me that Maryland's win over Florida State was the first one ever...making it even cooler. :spin:

An awesome fact about this game: This was one tier of a major trifecta that has not happened since 1978...the defeat of all three major Florida schools.

I was blown away when I heard about this. After the top four, the ACC is a dead heat at 4-4.
On another note....BASKETBALL STARTS ON WEDNESDAY!!!!

As a State fan, I kinda like it. While on any normal day I would hope that Boise State or UMass would win against Carolina, this has virtually saved "The Belly"'s job, thus ensuring another year or two of absolute Tarheel mediocrity at the least, and outright ineptness at the most.

well look at the bright side. bunting pretty much automatically keeps his job now, and we're guaranteed another few years of UNC mediocrity at best!
