cane day

I know this is kinda out there, but I was just thinking that it would be fun to have a carolina hurricanes day. Maybe it could be on May 28th, the day they made it to the finals, or the date they won the first game of the stanley cup finals...heck, I don't know!! :roll: Anyways, we could fly our car flags and then maybe watch a game from last season (oops...I mean the season before last) or some of the "raising canes" video at a bar or restuarant like we were talking about doing before...whatcha think?

I like that idea...but to me, every day is Cane Day! Every day I either watch Raising Cane DVD or a playoff matchup I have on tape. I try to follow them by the day...like on Mother's Day, I watched Game 5 vs. Montreal where we whooped them 5-1. So I try to keep up with the day and watch the game played a year ago on that same day. My Canes jersey is hanging up on my wall and is retired. I am now looking to to get a new jersey because my old jersey is getting a little small and his a playoff jersey! So to me, every day is Cane day and I am proud to be a Caniac. I love your idea! :spin:

That sounds like a good idea...I miss Canes hockey so bad...I hear a song on the radio or pass by the arena or the RecZone and I realize just how much I do!! :cry: I watch my Raising Canes video and all my footage from last year's run...and it makes me sad and happy at the same time!! :sad: :)

I know what you mean by being Happy and sad at the same time. I almost cry when I watch the Raising Cane DVD and they show are players after Game 5 of the Detroit series. It was a fantastic run that will never be forgotten. The Canes may have lost the series, but to everyone in and around the triangle they are winners. The atmosphere created around Raleigh last summer is something I am going to miss, but maybe we will see it again soon.

That is so true...I work in downtown Raleigh..and the other day we were walking and I was looking at the statues without the Canes jerseys and I thought of last year..and it made me want to cry...the statutes with jerseys and the Eye flag flying over the Capitol was the best!! :sad:

the playoffs are fun, but not even close to last year :sad: it was so much fun and hopefully next year will be a repeat with the ending we all want.

I can just picture Francis, Brind'Amour, O'Neill and company holding the Cup over their heads :spin:

I know they'll be ready to start the year. as bad as it was for us, I can't imagine how hideous it was for them. I am optimistic about the new season and their motivation to prove THIS year was the fluke season.

Great Idea!!!!!!! I'm all for it. I miss OUR hurricanes hockey so bad, it's not even funny. If only I could like hibernate from now until mid-October! :sad:
