Amazingly, I don't know if he wore an A as a Whaler or not...I want to say that Ronnie did jump to the C, but I cannot be for certain about that.

The Francis Penguins has some real issues with it. Milt says it's good, but there is some strong arguments for it being bad.

As for Francis not always wearing an "A": The NHL scrapped "A"s from the mid 70's to sometime in the mid eighties (sorry I don't have a better time frame, but the information available is sketchy).

They were back by the time he would have worn the Lelands Whalers jersey, but that would be why he didn't make the usual transition from "A" to "C" when he came up.
