Well, this is my most polemical poll about hockey. It's a poll about (i think...) the main disagree point in a new CBA: the Salary Cap.
Obs: I wrote all correctly?

When i was posting this reply, the score was Yes 6-0. Thanks to all that voted, no matters which was the answer.
I voted yes, but the major problem is exactly in players that wants to earn salaries like the NBA, NFL or MLB superstars, but the teams haven't the sufficient money to pay this salaries.

nfl and nba have restrictions, mlb has luxury tax. hockey is the only unrestricted sport currently. the problem is nhl doesnt make nba, mlb, nfl money.

...and never will, because in this country we don't have 30 traditional hockey markets, where it can thrive and be profitable (as in New York, Toronto, Detroit...) No other sport is faced with the prospect of introducing their sport to new fans in 70% of their markets...besides maybe the MLB in Toronto and Montréal, and we've seen how good that works.
It's a fundamental hinderance to have this problem...and I'm not 100% sure that it can ever work, salary cap or no salary cap. But to even try there must be some sort of way to even the playing field among the teams.

luxury tax is a tax on the total tem salary... so if you have the "luxury" of paying more money, you pay a higher tax. that money gets given to the teams with lower team salaries

Nice idea of the MLB. I'm thinking of what will happen with the Rangers if this rule be in NHL next years...

the players would agree the luxury tax, however it was at a percent the nhl was not willing to touch...
