I was reading the FanHome board and found that about 35+ people are going to the Montreal game as a group trip. That impressed me and I asked how such a trip was being organized. Folger's Dad was nice enough to respond saying that it was the Booster group. It dawned on me that I've never seen a post here or on ch.com inviting people to join the group or explain what they are about or promote their trips or whatever.

Does anyone know more about the group? It just seems odd that they wouldn't want to "boost" the Canes by advertising the trips, soliciting members, explaining what they do, etc. I've seen their table at the games, but I've never taken time out to stop. Is that their only "outreach" program?

Here's their website. http://www.hurricanesboosters.org/

I think their memberships fees went down a lot? I remember looking last year and it was way too expensive for us.. but now it is only $20/person.

Thanks Shell. I've gone their website, but it's been a loooong time ago. Wonder if it's more up to date than the last time I checked....

Still curious though, how come they don't promote via message boards?

Good question! I know we got literature on it when we received our mini pack of tickets, but I think that is the only official boosting of the boosters I have seen.

Funny you mention that - was considering going up there this weekend independent of the Boosters. ;)

If anyone's interested, tickets are plentiful on Admission.com, and Site59 is running a good special ($540/couple for Fri eve - Sun noon flight + hotel - Wyndham is near McGill and historical district). There is another upgrade to the Sheraton for $100, which is a couple of blocks from the arena.

Still undecided on this, but I understand Montreal is a wonderful city to visit, especially for a foodie.

Sounds great, but no moola for that at the moment, but it sounds like a blast! What is Site59?

. . . is a discount site for last-minute trips. This is actually the first time I've found a trip on there I couldn't get cheaper on Expedia - Expedia wanted $1,200 PER TICKET for flights only to Montreal this weekend.
