Has anyone heard if John is going to announce anymore ESPN games? Also, I'm worried if he gets too much exposure, as good as I think he is, we might lose him?

There hasn't been any word on Mr. Forslund announcing more playoff games...though, I wouldn't be surprised if he did more, because of his being amongst the better announcers ESPN has had during the playoffs thus far.
I'm not too worried about John leaving the Canes for ESPN because he has announced for ESPN numerous times before and during his being with the Canes. But, I hope he doesn't get any ideas anyway...

He is doing tomorrow's Canucks-Blues games. He said today that he would go anywhere they asked him so that's why he's been doing the coast to coast thing.

He is doing tomorrow's Canucks-Blues game.
How'd you find that out? Is there somewhere that it is listed?

SHC--John was on 96rock this morning talking about his ESPN stint. He was flying today for Vancouver. He did not say if he was doing any other games beyond that one.

Thanks! I hope they offer him a few more. And thanks for posting he's doing the Vancouver game... I probably wouldn't have missed it anyway but I definitely won't now!

He's alright...he knows his stuff...Maybe it's not even him, but the whole aura I get from him and Tripp together...
I'm a Mike Lange fan...So maybe that excuses me...

I think it is the John/Tripp combo....Tripp says stupid things and then John tries to fumble for words to compensate.... by himself, I think he has done a great job on EPSN! ...Not that I don't like Tripp..he is just silly sometimes..

ya know the worst part? Tripp is better than 2/3rds of the moronic fools doing color around the league.
if you don't have center ice... you wouldn't believe that. but those of you that do know I speak the truth.
I'm not a big fan of Tripp... but I'd rather hear him blathering on about dinner plans, the girl wearing the same orange pants, etc... then hear some of the other guys around the league. There are many that are SO one-sided, that they don't even Try to hide the fact that they're utterly biased towards their own team. That irks me something fierce. At least our guys will give credit where credit is due, call them like they seem, etc. Not talk about what a horrible call it was because we were diving (yet, our guy is bleeding).
And Forslund is one of my favorite play-by-play guys in the league. Great job.
I wouldn't mind seeing Tripp replaced by someone better (me, maybe. lol)... but there are much worse out there.

Yeah, Mike Lange makes everyone else I have seen pale in comparison... too bad he doesn't move down south! :)

I'm totally convinced the problem is Tripp. Of course, I think Tripp should seek employment elsewhere ASAP and always have so I am completely biased against him.
Forsland may not be the best anywhere, but he's a keeper as far as I'm concerned.
There are some really bad play by play and color men in the league though. CenterIce does give you a perspective on them! That crew for the Caps is really bad IMO.

As bad as Tripp can be(and that is pretty bad) he is light years ahead of that joker Craig Loughlin from the Caps. Loughlin seems to think that every goal the Caps score is some highlight reel goal wheras any goal scored against them is sheer luck by the other team. ANd the worst crew in the entire NHL is those two bozos from Buffalo. They are absolutely horrendous. The two of them both sould like Cartman with a cold. I actually feel sorry for Buffalo fans having to listen to those guys.

Besides the fact that his voice sounds like fingernails on a chalkboard...Tripp is better than him! Definately!

While watching CenterIce and seeing other teams "home broadcast guys", John and Tripp look pretty darn good. They (J & T) don't hesitate to point out something good the other team does..some of the other broadcasters wouldn't pay the other team a compliment, if there lives depended on it..watching CenterIce does open up your eyes to a lot of things!

I'll tell you one thing....I'll take 55 Tripps over Denis Potvin any day! I don't care how great of a plyer he was he is driving me NUTS! I think he's done color on most of the games I've watched and I think he is extremely annoying. Of course, I usually just want the color guy to shut up anyway so maybe it's just his incessant yammering that is killing me. Some folks may like that....who knows?

Personally, I really enjoy John and Tripp. To me, it's like going to the games with a guy who really knows hockey with his pesky little brother who knows hockey too. They make good points and they make me laugh. Sure, TT pulls some boner jokes, but the mood is always lighthearted and fun to watch.

What about Chopper and Jimmy's prompted "Dyno-mite, Shazzam" and other phrases!
That's what's awesome about Lange!

If anyone remember Boom-Boom Geffrione and his mangling of the English language, that was some all-time classic stuff. He and Mike Emrick are my favorites, though I liked Emrick/Clement.
