Is Toronto the most hated team in the NHL?

NHL 2nite just did a story on this. If you missed it, they are going to re-show it at 1:30 in the morning.

Pat Quinn said they go overboard sometimes, and they make some Dirty plays but so does every other team in the league. I think they were talking to Peca, and he was saying that because of the way that Toronto plays and that the officials are looking for them.

Please add if you saw it.

They showed the Canes twice in the story! ;)

To me, his comments were trying to be middle of the road, giving some credence to the idea that the Leaf reputation (dirty, penalty-ridden, etc.) might influence some refs, that they also deserve some of that rep because of the players and their behavior.

Have to say some of those clips had Darcy Tucker looking absolutely demonic.

Darcy is their biggest (short, wimpy) thug. He plays WAY more dirty than Domi IMO, he just won't back it up. The gloves come off and he's hiding behind Belak! Or Corson. He'll pick the fight but he won't finish it.

I do HATE the Leafs and think they are thugs....and they do whine way too much..but I have to say that I hate the Wings more..I guess it is because of the way they treated our Canes last year..all the criticism..and the team and their fans making fun of them and us!! :mad: This may be OT..but I remember one of the first games in Detroit, Debra Morgan (Channel 5) couldn't even talk on camera because of all the nasty comments that were going on behind her!! :mad: ...Sorry..one day I may get over this!! :roll:

Tucker even described himself as "abrasive" so any wonder he is so disliked? He did look positively possessed in some of those clips.

Tucker may be the bigger thug, but Domi is a complete jerk IMO. I find him the most repulsive of the Leafs.

I was able to let out a hearty laugh when Quinn made his comment that they only reason they were the most penalized team in the league (avg'ing 5+ pk's per game during the reg. season), is because the refs had a disliking for them.

I think they relish the reputation as being the most hated team. It just suits them and they are all over it. Guess if you're going to be the most hated, you may as well enjoy and encourage it.

As long as there isn't any real serious hits, I have to say I find Domi quite hilarious and entertaining.
