Hey guys...several of us individually have talked about how much fun it would be for all of us lgc'ers to sit together at a Canes' game....how many of you would be up for that?? When the time comes, I could talk to my ticket rep and maybe we could get a group rate...

I think it would be a great time...of course some of the "rowdy ones"...and you know who you are :p .. will have to sit in the middle of the row..just so we can keep an eye on them! ;)

...maybe this should be in Off-Topic..if so, I apologize..

I would definitely be in, if you can let us know as soon as the schedule comes out which game that it is... maybe you can pick one that isn't in the 24 pack, so that those folks can go too. We pick our games lottery-style at the beginning of the season, so have some flexibility as to which ones we choose.

I would definitely be up for a LGC group game....also a vote for outside the 24 pack. You need 20 people to get the group rate (this past season anyway)....we should be able to scrap that up. Also in for a road trip! That is definitely on my list of to-dos for next season. If we could get a group together for that it would be awesome!

Oh man, that's an excellent idea Mona! :) I'm kind of a babe in the woods about ticket prices though... what's the going rate if we bought as a group?

Also, is the Marty Brodeur thing included in the discount rate? I think the team should give us some kind of discount for all the extra effort their fans are expending for the good of our franchise.

I presume the group rates will be the same since ticket prices will be the same.. this year the group stuff was like this:

Come and enjoy the excitement of NHL Hockey with friends, family, and fellow group members at a reduced rate! Prices start at just $19 for groups of 20 or more.

Nothing beats Hurricanes Hockey! Your group will be a part of the game every "check" of the way. Great giveaways, surprise guests and that daredevil mascot, Stormy, guarantee that you'll have the time of your life!

UNBELIEVABLE BENEFITS Get tickets at a reduced rate, get a break on service charges, get all your seats together (based on availability), get the opportunity to buy group playoff tickets before they go on sale to the general public, get two complimentary tickets to the group leader appreciation game and get your own personal account representative to handle all of your ticket needs. Get the picture?

Jeff O--
The way suites worked last year was $85/ticket, plus a minimum of $20/person in food and drink. It's amazingly easy to come up with the food/drink minimum! :D Fridges are stocked with beer and wine as well as soda and water. If you want mixed drinks you need to hire a bartender in addition. Suites range in size from 12 to I think 80. The food in wonderful and it is quite an amazing experience.

stewart123
05-11-2003, 06:29 PM
If beer and wine is served, are the suites over-21 only?

VandyCane
05-11-2003, 06:37 PM
Suites are "all-ages." The suite renter has to agree that all their guests will obey the alcohol laws. Kids 3 and under are free as well. We had about 5 kids with us and it was quite nice to let them run all over the suite without having to worry about them disturbing anyone else! :D

Being in a suite is THE coolest.

My birthday is always around the time of the allstar game/superskill events, so as an early present, my family took me to the Canes superskill events; not a real game even, but TONS of fun: I took lots of my friends; and we had fun watching the events, the football playoff games on TV, eating popcorn, hotdogs, soda, wings, and lots more FOOD! Definitely a great choice for a game; seriously, the cost is SO worth it.

Hey guys...here is the answer from my ticket rep...about the same as Vandy posted..

Mona,

You are looking at between $100-110 per person with food and beverage. The
smallest is a 12 person suite and they can go as big as 88. Let me know if
you need anything else.

Just something to keep in mind!! :spin:

I'm with Jeff here. If $100-$110 includes DECENT beer and snacks and some bad-ass eats in a suite I'm thinking it's worth it. I'll just have to eat a lot since we won't be able to afford groceries for the next week. :p But yeah, we're in.

i don't know about the suite. that's a lot of $ for one game, i only sprung for $85 seats once last year. it depends i guess, on what game it's for, how good the eats are, etc. beer is not an issue for me.

As far as I know, all suites are on the club level....at Game 3 of the SCF's we sat in section 207 and it was a great view of the ice...even if we don't do the suite thing, it will be fun for all of us to sit together...hope they have plenty of extra security that night!! :spin: :p ;)

SouthernHockeyChick
06-18-2003, 12:16 PM
Money aside.....the seats in suites are the best in the house....bar none. Comfy, the best view of the ice in the whole place IMO (club level rocks), and of course we must take the good company into account. :spin:

Guyute
06-18-2003, 12:43 PM
Club lvl seats are Definitely, without a doubt, the best seats in the house. Right inbetween being very close... and being high enough to see plays developing. We sit in the 200's a couple of times per year (if we're lucky)... free seats from RTP. :) It's awesome.

though, in general, the people on that level SUCK. They're like most toronto fans. bringing people there to show off their $100/seat tickets, in suits, running their mouths... and glaring at us when we're screaming at the refs that I'm gonna eat their children.
Turn around and go back to bragging about your XJ6 before you walk out of here with a shiner buddy.

all that being said... a suite with a bunch of friends is the ultimate. best seats in the house... and enough of you to rumble if the need arises :p LOL

now... about that beer... ? :smoke:

Agree with every word of that as well. And the only time I've gotten to sit at club level was during the playoffs....same crowd even then. Wouldn't know they were at a hockey game unless the puck hit them in the head....which I was usually wishing for.

Guyute

last time we were there, 4 people came in halfway through the 2nd period. their seats were right in front of ours. it's was obvious right off the bat that they never pay attention to anything, because they started talking to us like we sat there for every game. "Bet you thought we weren't gonna make it, huh?".
well, after 10 minutes of them being there and yammering... Yes, I wish they wouldn't have made it.

Suites are in the club level as well as all around the top of the lower level. The suites are tons of fun, but whoever's credit card is being used may want to put a limit as to how much "extra" (ie, alcohol) can be tacked on to the total bill. Alcohol and soda are actually cheaper through the suite than at the concesion stand, but if people keep ordering someone is bound the get stuck with a large bill. Just a word of warning.

Still up for it if it's a general group game...Oct. 28th will more than likely be the Halloween Celebration game, if there is one, meaning that will most likely be the game I'll go to for my birthday. :spin: If I sell enough albums (http://www.letsgocanes.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=880) in time, I was hoping to go for center ice seats at that game, but will happily spring for a seat with y'all and go for center ice at another game. :)

Absolutely.. I wasn't attempting to list the only possibilities, just trying to help by researching the game that would force the fewest people involved to double-pay.

So, if there is to be a vote, let me officially nominate the 10/28 against San Jose, the 1/20 game against Ottawa, and the 3/10 against Tampa Bay. All other nominations are welcomed, as are any seconds for the three games I just nominated.

I got lucky once and sat in the SAS suite. Two of my best friends from college ended up getting married and the wife works at SAS. She got the suite ticket thru some kind of lottery and kept them because she knew I loved hockey. The suite was stocked with Mich. Light, Pizza, Wings (not of the Red variety) and Chips with Salsa. It was great since most of the other people there didn't know much about hockey and/or had kids and ended up leaving early. :smoke:

My friend and I ended up getting so drunk we had to call his wife to come get us. I think I ate a whole pizza by myself.

I have season tickets (yes, I'm bragging) but I would love to meet you bunch of nuts. Count me in. I've dropped bigger coin on horrible first dates, so suite, group seats or you all could share my seat. No big whoop. Also, I usually park across the street from Carter-Finley stadium were it is free. ;) I mostly go by myself but I've always had fun meeting people who go about an hour or two before games for a little tail gating. Everybody is real friendly and it's something else we could all do. Just think of the fear we would instill in our opponents as we storm the RBC together singing "Rock me like a Hurricane". That could be the deciding factor for victory altogether.

I have some info from John...he said they have suite sizes that range from 18 (possibly 20) to 44 persons.. The smaller suite will run between $100 -$115 and that includes ticket and food and beverage..

They have a 34 person suite...that will run around $100

a 44 person suite....$100 as well...he said of course the more people, the less the cost...

I asked about the beer choices and he said that they have ALL Anheiser Busch products as well as Coors Light and he said he didn't know right off hand about international choices but he could find out...

They require a $25 deposit and then you settle up like 2 weeks in advance...

For regular block seating, he said we could do Lower Bowl at $75 per person..that is around premiere ice (106 or 107)...and club level would be $60 per person....

You guys think about it and he said he would be in touch with me next week..he also said he had been out on a promotion thing with Chuck today and that everyone was very excited and upbeat about the new season...I told him we were a bunch of dedicated Caniacs that couldn't wait for the season to begin! :spin:

Well, as I suggested before, if we go to the October 28th game, it can be an early birthday party for me. :spin: More than likely, the only people in my party will be me, myself, and I. BUT, I might can get a friend of mine to come depending upon his schedule and where we sit. If it's club level or lower level, I could possibly sweet talk my friend into coming. (Meaning nobody here having to pick me up, whoo-hoo! :)) But, if it's a suite...I don't know. My friend and I personally don't mind having to get up for refreshments. At the most, we only get one drink, (The only times I've ever gotten food was at the Jan. 20th Blues (Goodberry's chocolate puck) and Feb. 14th Caps (Salted pretzel...BIG mistake. Next time, I'm going for unsalted.) games.) and booze is definitely not an issue for us.

I'm sorry to be against a suite, because I know it is *real nice* and possibly an once in a lifetime thing for some folks. But besides the thought of inviting my friend, (Which will more than likely not happen, because I really need to know what game this get-together will happen at before I try to make such plans.) I've also had the following thought...as the Beach Boys would sing, wouldn't it be nice if we could make LGC.com be heard at a game? I was thinking it would be cool to take over a section in club level or part of a section in the lower level. We could try to be one of the loudest sections AND especially get in some advertising on TV and/or the Jumbotron through bringing a sign or banner to flash.

Maybe it's wishful thinking, but maybe it's not...it's whatever you all want to do. :)

stewart123
07-22-2003, 06:41 AM
I don't think LGC.com has a signup-sheet script, and using individual postings stretching back months is somewhat confusing, so I would suggest setting up a couple polls in the Poll Topic.

The specific game to attend (10/28, 1/20, 3/10 so far, maybe add a good weekend game not on the 24 plan), and the type of seats desired (suite, club, lower).

Might want to mention that it should only be filled out by people who will definitely attend, regardless of the game chosen, and then it could be used as a headcount also. If the Poll topic tracks names internally, the website operator could help provide that info for use in coordinating.

If we're going to use this topic.. my vote is suite (3 attendees) and 1/20 against Ottawa.

Hmm.. the headcount issue. For my case it would be understated by two. Perhaps a third poll with 'Number of people who will be attending (1, 2, 3, 4, 5+)' and you could just multiply the results times the number of people for that answer.

If the moderators don't want this in the Poll topic, I can set this up on my site.

Yes, I went to about 20 games last year by my lonesome. I took dates/friends to about five games. The three dates hated it and didn't mind telling me so. So I kicked them to the curb. rental suites what we do is a $25 per person food and beverage minimum.
Please let me know if I can assist you further!
We look forward to having you at a Canes game!!!

Maybe they have changed it from last year....The price is $85 for the ticket with a minimum of $25 dollars in food per person. That makes it $110 per person. The $25 dollars in food per person is issued toward any item---beer, wine, soda, and "real food". For example you have twenty people in a suite you have to spend $500 in food and drink. You can order $250 in food and then have them stock the remaining $250 in drinks. If you go over the minumum amount then the extra goes on the suite renters credit card. I hope that explains it a little better. The suite is great if everyone drinks/eats about the same. If someone only drinks soft drinks then they have to make their money's worth by eating more food! :D

Well, 1/20 is a Tuesday, so we can't make it. We'll sure miss getting together again with our lgc crowd! You guys have a great time and don't get too rowdy!

IrbeGirl, make sure you let us all know when you come into town for a weekend game. There are so many that are season ticket holders and 24 game pack holders that I'm sure everyone would love to get together before the game to catch up with you and Mr. IrbeGirl! :D
