French soccer player Pascal Nouma celebrated the end of a four-week scoring drought by pulling off his shirt and putting his hand down his own shorts.

That's pretty tame stuff for a European soccer player -- except that he was playing for the Turkish team Besiktas at the time. The conservative Turkish society isn't big on guys disrobing and tugging at themselves in public.

"We've canceled his contract unilaterally," Besitktas president Serdar Bilgili said. "We've decided to send him back to his country."

Nouma apologized on his way out the door. "It was just a private sign of joy," he said. "I shouldn't have done it. If it hurt Turkey, then I am sorry."

Or he could have been like that one German player who bit another TEAMMATES special place in celebration of a goal.

O...K. I'm betting the teammate didn't think that was too valid of a celebration!

Hey, when you're happy you have to express it anyway you can, I guess.
I'm glad hockey scores aren't celebrated that....um...exhuberantly. Especially in the 47-0 Denmark loss! :D
