OK, so for the last few years (that we had hockey) I ran a few fantasy hockey leagues for LGC.. I am ready to go again and will be doing the same format as in previous years. I will be using Yahoo and will do an offline draft (so that everyone doesn't have to be on at the same time). I think I will probably run 3 leagues again; one Head to Head, one Fantasy Points, and one Rotisserie. People can participate in one, two, or all.
My only request is PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE don't join if you will not follow through and set your lines through the whole season. Personally, I set mine every day unless I am on vacation and set them in advance, but it has to be done at least once a week. Nothing worse than seeing the best player in the league sitting inactive!
I am happy to teach beginners how to play, so lots of knowledge isn't essential, just the time commitment.
Rules can be found here:
http://help.yahoo.com/help/hockey/hrules/index.html
The league types are:
(Head to head means that each week you play directly against one other LGCer and you compete for which of your teams get the most goals, assists, penalty minutes, goalie stats, etc.
Fantasy Points means you are awarded a certain amount of points for each thing your players do, for example, you might get 2 points for every goal, 1 point for every assist, 1/4 point for each penalty minute, etc.
Rotisserie means whoever gets the most goals gets 12 points, second most gets 11 points, etc. Then do the same with assists, goalie stats, etc. Your rank will fluctuate daily depending on how you did compared against everyone else.
To get your team, you will rank the players in the order that you want them. We'll then have a random draft order where Turby might have 1st pick, SHC has second, and the program will automatically go through and pick your highest ranked player that is available. The goals, assists, etc. are based on what the player does in real life. You can also pick people up that aren't on a team or work a trade with a fellow LGCer.
Feel free to post or PM me if you have any questions at all.
Please let me know if and what you would be interested in...

I'll play head-to-head, and maybe fantasy points if someone can tell why I should.

Head to head and fantasy points... never been a huge fan of rotisserie in any sport, for whatever reason... but im definitely up for the other 2. I havent been as lucky in fantasy hockey as i have been in football though... ive finished 1st, 2nd, and 1st in football the past 3 seasons, but never been higher than like 4th in hockey.

HTH is great, I've been a fan since they started it 2 (I think) years ago. err, well, we've had 2 seasons with HTH anyway... so, 3 years.. whatever.
I'll play whatever is setup. :)

I love fantasy hockey!
Can't the person running the league decide what is worth what amount of points? I remeber last year in a league I was in PIM's were worth 1 point or somthing like that. Basically the same as what a goal was worth. Only one guy noticed that and drafted only fighters and goons. But then the guy running the league changed it to 1pim=.2 or whatever it worked out to a fight=goal as far as league points.
I really love HTH the best though!

yep, points are set by the Commish. I believe Shell did do one of our leages last time with PIM's as a + not a -. I like both ways.. just gotta watch your roster in either case.
