I know that it has been a while, and this is a really bad question. But was there ever a player on the team that had the number 21 and who was it? 21 seems to ring a bell with someone, but we have no idea who it was! Anybody know?? Or, are we just going crazy?!?!

Ron Francis had it from the time he signed with us in 98 until after the 99/00 season.

And don't forget the living legend David Tanabe....he wore 21 after switching from 45. And then he got traded.

And just to round out the answer, not that it's who you're thinking of, but defenseman Jeff Brown also wore the number #21 for his 32 games played for the Canes in 97-98, the first year in NC. He switched from the #22 he wore in Hartford when Andrew Cassels, who had #21, was traded along with JS Giguere to Calgary for Gary Roberts and Trevor Kidd during the offseason of the franchise move.

Tanabe must be in heaven having Wayne Gretzky as his coach unless he turns out to suck as a coach.....
