By late morning today, however, not everyone in Australia was quite so blithe. "We've still got part of Jamaica stuck to Queensland," said Australian army commander Lt. Gen. Peter Cosgrove. "I think we might have declared war on it. I don't bloody remember. Maybe it's time to go home."

I don't know why, but this part gave me quite a chuckle. http://websmileys.bei.t-online.de/lachen40.gif

LMAO!

I personally enjoyed this:
In a two-hour meeting at midday, Australian representatives listed their demands: immediate inclusion in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, a permanent CNN presence in all 6 Australian states, a worldwide ban on hiring Paul Hogan, a primetime U.S. television contract for Australian Rules Football, and a 4,500-mile-long bridge between Sydney and Los Angeles.

U.S. negotiators immediately walked out, calling the Australian Rules Football request "absurd."

Does this mean the Great Barrier Reef is uninhabited? I say we break off a chunk of the South here and head on over!!

Excellent point SCH!!!

we'll be getting scuba certified and diving the 2nd best spots in the world (Grand Cayman) in just over 2 weeks. After that, the GBR is HIGH on my list. :D

let's paddle some land over there and anchor 'er down.

Welcome to the club, my husband and I dive! I guess that makes me HubbyLikesDiving for the moment. :D We did the "snorkel with the stingrays" thing in Cayman last fall, which I highly recommend. I'm so jealous you're going diving! Will you be doing your check out dives in Cayman? Tell me all about it when you get back! If you can, use a computer, it's great for getting the most out of your dives. I just downloaded our dive computers tonight, and I'm up to 48!

Hey Cam. Stuart mailed me back and said "You know you'd freak out if we were anywhere near the United States." lol A bunch of drunk and/or hung-over Aussies are a dangerous lot.

:D
