The second of Vrbata's two goals on Monday was assisted by Canes teammates Jan Hlavac and Josef Vasicek, who together have formed one of the Czech's top offensive lines so far in the tournament. Vasicek has also shown his skill in the faceoff circle, where he has won 60% of his draws so far.

How great for our Czech mates!!

Arturs Irbe's Latvia team will advance after shutting out Belarus 4-0 on Tuesday behind Sergejs Naumovs in goal and a hat trick from Nashville Predators defenseman Karlis Skrastins. Irbe's only action in the round-robin was a 6-1 defeat at the hands of Canada.

Mikus is probably pleased with the team's performance. Perhaps he'll have a new goalie to follow.. whoever had the shutout?
