line/slot discussions

tonight kind of sucks. all teams have a game, so unless you have 3-4 injured guys, you're going to be deciding who is going to come out hungrier than the other guy.

my tough call in one league is for LW slots. I have Gagne (playing with Forsberg and young possible phenom Carter), Kariya (with Legwand and Erat, probably one of the fastest lines in the league) or Brunette (playing with Sakic and Laaksonen).

I have Gagne and Kariya active. I'm toying with swapping Brunette and Kariya... but probably won't. just something that has my mind going.

Next league I have almost the same LW problem. except this time Kariya sits in favor of Gagne and Nash. probably leave as-is there too. Especially since Columbus is playing the Craps.

and I'm sitting Brindy in 2 leagues... well, just because he probably isn't going to compete with the likes of Sakic, Forsberg, Holik, Fedorov and Handzus. (though, he may compete with 'Zus.. since he doesn't have Recchi as a linemate anymore. that remains to be seen.)

oh well... today's musings.

If you have a player active but then he really doesn't dress or play does that count as a game played? What about a goalie, you have him active he dresses but then doesn't play does that count as a game played in the fantasy league?

if he's slotted, but does not actually play, I'm almost positive it doesn't count as a game played for your max allowable. I think a player has to accrue a stat for him to be considered to have played.

Another question... Is the 82 games for each position or is it per slot? Say we have 2 LW spots does that mean we get 164 LW games total, or only 82 for the LW position?

Each position on your roster can accumulate a maximum of 82 games worth of stats. Once any roster position (the sum of all players used in that position) reaches the 82-game plateau, stats are no longer accumulated at that position.

If your league uses more than one of any position, the allowable total for those positions will be the sum of each individual spot. So, if you allow a maximum of 82 games per position and have three center spots on your roster, you will have a total of 246 combined center games. But, if you have used 245 of them and still have three centers active, you will receive stats for all three players.
