Any weighlifters here? I'm just getting started. My roommate is a middle-advanced weightlifter and he's giving me pointers and helping me out, but I was looking for any other guidance you guys may be able to provide.
Any tips?
And does anyone use Creatine or any other supplements? What are your thoughts on those?

My hubby uses Creatine...says it helps repair muscle after a workout faster.

No prob, Boss. If not for my condition, I'd still be lifting. I worked out for a year with a personal trainer & loved it!

I work out.......cardio and weights.........but not heavy lifting. I don't use Creatine or any of that. That stuff scares me a little so I just have to let my sore muscles heal in their own time.

I have to say that at other times I have started lifting and done a much less intense workout than last night and had insane soreness afterward. Last night I hit the weights HARD, took some creatine capsules per the directions and advice I have been given, and today I have zero soreness. My muscles are a little tight, but not sore.
I have to say I like the feeling. I will keep everyone updated on this.
Oh yeah, last night my other roommate was saying he personally wouldn't use Creatine. I told him I'd continue to let him know how it goes and that if I wake up dead one morning I'll quit right away. ;)

hehehheheh... good plan :vamp:
Are you working out in a gym? I'd love to eventually start working out again, but the whole gym thing really intimidates me. Mostly because exercise equipment has a way of taking off with me, or grabbing me by my shirt and holding me hostage. Not a pretty sight my friends.
I don't know much about supplementation except that steroids make people act funny ~ I worked with a guy who was a competition power lifter, and he was constantly falling in and out of 'roid rages. :P He was very fond of crushing me, so I had to keep him at arms length most of the time.
