If I was honestly voting, I'd pick Kovalchuk ... Jagr and the Rags are already running out of steam, seems to me.

I had to be honest, too... I picked Gagne. Although I'm surprised so few people picked Staal. And I can't believe they actually have a "no one will score 50 goals" option.

If I was honestly voting, I'd pick Kovalchuk ...

Didn't he accumulate about half those points when they beat us 9-0?? Seemed like if he wasn't scoring he was assisting.

I voted for Staal. I love the kid but I am not so sure he will be first. The caniac in me made me vote for him. I don't see Jagr making 50 as corylav said, the Rangers are fading fast.

I'd vote for Staal or Jagr.

Rangers aren't really fading. It just looks that way. They just played more games than everyone else. When their schedule normalized, not playing 6 games in 8 days every other week, they played some really good teams. The only way they were going to stay on top was to play about .800 hockey. That wasn't going to happen. They're only 2 games under .500 since they hit their high point of 12 games over.

Philadelphia, Buffalo, and Toronto are just playing lights out right now. As long as the Devils and Islanders don't get hot, the Rangers are a playoff team.

It really has nothing to do with them losing the division lead ... they've just lost to — or barely defeated — some pretty bad or mediocre teams as of late. JMO.
