Defenceman Marc Bergevin is going home, again.

Bergevin was re-acquired by the Pittsburgh Penguins from the Tampa Bay Lightning in exchange for a ninth round pick in the 2003 NHL draft.

The Lightning picked up Bergevin from the Penguins back on March 11 in exchange for Brian Holzinger. He played in one regular season game and did not see any action in the playoffs for Tampa Bay.

"While he may not have played much for us this season, Marc Bergevin
was a great addition to our hockey team," said Lightning GM Jay Feaster. "His positive attitude and veteran presence were very important down the stretch and into the post-season."

"At the same time, however, Marc has a home and roots in Pittsburgh
and he expressed an interest in returning there next season. Given all he
did for us this season, there was no way I would not honor his request."

Bergevin was an original member of the expansion Lightning in 1992-93, spending three seasons with the team. He was traded to the Detroit Red Wings in 1995 and has also spent time with St. Louis, Chicago, the New York Islanders and Hartford.
