Don't look now, but the Blue Jackets are catching fire, with plenty of games against the woeful Blues and Blackhawks remaining. They have won 5 in a row and are 8-2 in their last 10, and finally have their best player back in uniform and getting back into the groove (Nash). Their wins? Not exactly patsies: Vancouver, Minnesota, Nashville, Calgary, and Edmonton. They are still 8 games under .500, but with a strong finish in their last 4 going into the Olympic break, they could make some noise out west.

I've said since Nash's return that you can't count them out of sneaking into a playoff spot. Denis is actually pretty solid.... when the guys in front of him decide to play. And Nash is a monster no matter how badly the team around him is.

Columbus is one of my favorite teams to watch, specifically Nash, but I also love that Russian, Zherdev - It would be great for that team, and their fans and their city to get a taste of the playoffs, especially since they have a rockin' arena and that whole area in downtown CLB is ripe for a playoff run- - and they can't be counted out- they seem to be mounting a surge since Nash returned, Foote's back in the lineup , Federov is playing like the real Federov, and their goalie Denis, is doing pretty well so they've got a real chance.
Ahh, the New Look NHL - so many storylines...................
