This is classic Canadian, I was just browsing the Toronto Star as I do every morning, and they've got a reporter doing 'online play by play' of the game vs Italy! You'll need only to hit refresh, and he's doing it basically by the minute- with people emailing him and texting during this time (mostly folks like us at work, wondering what the heck is going on)
so anyway, here's the link- kinda entertaining...... as I drop the link it's 4-1 in the second, and Canada started off 'sluggish' according to the reporter and a funny tid-bit; one of the Italian goalie's name is Guther Hell. (OMG) Well it's probably 8-1 by now....

edit: just linky-ed the URL so the thread wasn't too wide. :)

This game was so exciting in the 1st. Italy was playing all out and John Davidson sounded giddy like a school girl.
I watched the last 10 minutes of the first and then the beginning of the 2nd. I hooted when Italy scored on Canada to tie it 1-1. What a thrill for that player to score on Brodeur.
The starting goalie for Italy is named Mazzatti (sp?) - his parents were born in Italy, but he grew up in Toronto. He was on XM yesterday (from an older interview) and he was very funny. He's played GREAT from the part I saw.
Nice to see them get another goal for the home fans.

That play by play is hilarious.
SECOND INTERMISSION
Interesting observation from Carla: Muzzatti, the Italian goalie, wears a mask that has Pope John Paul II on one side and the Virgin Mary on the other. She hopes that Brodeur isn’t wearing his Devils mask: “That could be bad juju.” Well, perhaps, but it’s 6-2 Canada. The juju can’t be that bad, can it? Or does this stuff cumulate, like Italian food references on the CBC?

Muzzy played for the Whalers the two years before they moved here, then was traded to the Rangers for a pick that became Tommy Westlund before the first Greensboro season started.

I just love John Davidson ....... you would never know he was Canadian. ........ok, that didn't come out right. He is certainly not a homer, lets just say that.
