If we claimed him, he'd have to be on our roster ... then we'd need to run him thru waivers again to get him to Lowell.

That's right. I had it backward, it's the 2nd go 'round where you can assign them directly, right? Didn't we do that with Druken? Then again, maybe that's not even the case in the new-unpublished-CBA.

I believe the second time around we'd still have to keep him on the roster, but we'd only be on the books for half his salary (Blues would do the rest). Jesse actually makes more than the minimum this year ($500K+), so it's just not prudent to bring him back, IMO.

Not that it matters, but I was talking about the "old 2nd time" (meaning the team that claimed him putting him on waivers) rather than the new "2nd time" which is used when they are called back up by the team that waived them originally. That set of waivers didn't exist before, right?
If there was a way to get him and put him in Lowell, it would be something I'd like to see, but that's sentiment talking I guess. :D

Ziggy is still in Peoria after they sent him down- so I'm guessing they'll keep him around- if/when Jesse clears waviers, he'll be there as well I guess....................it's really too bad for both guys- but there's that phrase.... "it's a business"

One thing I did read on the Blues' board ... Someone asked if Ziggy would get a call-up with all this, and another responded that Jesse was waived to make room for Jamal Mayers.

Man, he just can't get a break. Well, whether if he ends up here or somewhere else, I just want him to keep busting people up (in a good way; not meanie player way).

Did I hear wrong when I was told Jesse Boulerice likes to drop the mitts? I also heard Carolina traded him because he wouldn’t fight. He told me he’s a guy that can be counted on to make plays and wants to do more than serve the tough guy role.
If he doesn’t serve the tough guy role there may not be a role for him to serve.
may shed some light on Blues reasoning

I know that Jesse stayed in Raleigh during the lockout and worked out dilligently to stay in shape and be ready to play. I think he was counting on being able to skate hard and score for us as opposed to cracking heads. Just my opinion.

Wow, I watched Jesse's last game with the blues and saw the writing on the wall when, even for the blues, he only played 1 or 2 shifts that I visibly saw. Ya can't drop the gloves if you're only on the ice twice. I personally would like him back for insurance in case the playoffs or the end of the year see us needing to protect our players ala eric Cole with the threat of beatdown.
