#1 most dangerous is St. Louis for the second year in a row. Running a close second is Detroit.

wow, very interesting. I never would have guessed that Jackson Mississippi was more dangerous than New York City! Having moved here from Tampa, I am surprised it was 9th most dangerous.

I'm suprised Detroit isn't #1....what a town to feel insecure in. St Louis never seemed that bad to me....then again, I never really visited the slums...

And Durham wasn't on the list? *Cheapshot*

Buffalo is probably high on the danger list, too.

AWE! I luv Cary! That's where PCF and I always stay when we head down there to see Canes games :)

That is great to hear. I know we went 7 years without a murder years ago. I think that there have been 3-5 in the past year now. That is still awesome though. Now if they would get rid of the dumb town ordinances, it would be a great place to live too! :spin:

Indeed Mean Gene - Maybe one day, you can have all that AND still be able to have an American flag in your front yard! ;) Might go crazy and get 3 dogs too!

Why Buffalo tommy? My in-laws live there and I have never felt it to be a dangerous place. I did several of my med school rotations at Children's Hospital and I routinely would walk the 10-12 city blocks from the Hospital to their house and I never felt threatened. Seeing that I would usually walk alone and I'm not very threatening at 5'3" I would have been an easy target.

I've been to Buffalo twice (will be making it 3 in June) and both times I was a little antsy when I was there as well. Not sure why....and it was probably an inaccurate perception but it was my gut feeling at the time. http://www.tridead.net/canes/images/smilies/shrug.gif

If you've ever been in some of the neighborhoods around the HSBC Center, I've heard you get a pretty uneasy feeling... so maybe it has its good and bad parts... I mean, Detroit probably even has its nice neighborhoods.

Or maybe it's just gotten better... my dad said that about 10 years ago he was at a medical meeting in Buffalo, and a few of the areas were pretty seedy and unsafe.

Cary has too many rules and regulations to ALLOW crime in!! :D ;)
