View Full Version : I love my job I love my job I...
Don't you just LOVE it when someone ELSE doesn't do THEIR job, royally screws something up, and now it's YOUR job to fix it?
So one of my PIs (the fancy name they give a researcher when the gov't gives you money) has a conference in July, and we reserved a wholle building for it like, last October.
Go figure we call to verify last week, and they have NO record of it. NONE. So there was another meeting scheduled in one of the rooms smack dab in the middle of the day in the middle of the block of days we needed, and the reservations office basically said too bad.
So I called said person who had said reservation, and asked if they might be willing to move. I also kinda... mentioned... sorta... that their lunch meeting was scheduled in the middle of a convention of 40+ people discussing parasites and worms.
Funny that. They cancelled their meeting and gave us the room. Crisis averted I guess.

Pi. Pfft. Big deal. So pedestrian. Do you have the bioavailabilty of the extended release formulation of phenytoin memorized? The volume of distribution for gentamicin? Half life of amiodarone? Do you know all the formulas to calculate the dosing of vancomycin? How about an easy one....digoxin? No? That's what I thought.
:p
I got precious little these days, I gotta flaunt it when I can. ;)
And, someone tell me just exactly what the hell I do tonight without a hockey game on. Anywhere. Second night in a row. This sucks.

I'm so feeling your pain. I HATE network television.
It's too funny tho. I work as an admin and resident computer fixit in the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology department of a major research hospital and medical school, and some days I get these papers and grant bodies and whatnot, and they are looking at me to like, fix things. I just look at them and smile, and remind them that MY degree is in religion. That usually nips that whole "write this for me" thing in the bud REAL fast.

I know! This no hockey thing is getting expensive. WAY too much time for EBay. I think I have a Chinese good luck charm on the way, and now I'm looking for Chia Pig Pets to grow instead of a playoff beard, and later tonight I'm thinking I might search for Southwest green passes...
A game would be MUCH cheaper.

If I don't kill our receptionist today, it will be a small miracle.
Between two admins she makes utterly insane daily, it's a wonder she's still breathing.
