This really sucks that the game will be on Saturday at 2pm. I have a hockey game at 11 and then I'm registered for the K9-3K walk which starts at 4. I've already raised money and talked other people into doing it as well. How the hell do I get out of this one.

NBC is going to go with the biggest ratings draw and that's obviously the Devils. No way would they want to show Calgary-Edmonton - that would be a US ratings nightmare. They will probably show Colorado-SJ on Sunday.

I think the building is going to be totally electric- the lots are going to be crazy and I'm not thrilled with a Saturday 2pm game, but you have to throw out our 'afternoon' record because that's the regular season- the playoffs are a totally different animal. No way are they not hyped, regardless if it's a 2pm start or a 7pm start!

I don't think the schedule is going to be announced until the Ducks/Flames series concludes.

The NHL loves to screw with the Devils playoff scheduling and I am hoping that Game 4 would not fall on Mother's Day, like how 2001 Game 2 against your Canes coincidentally fell on Easter Sunday. If it does, its going to be hard to see any of our fans try to make it to that game and the New York media will again blame us for lack of support.

Well the script gets the raw date from the db, and then it uses the date() function to format it the way I want it.

I put TBA in there, and the date function went ape$hit, so I just put a random date in there until I know what the actual dates are.

OK people, a little advice is needed. I wasn't sure what thread, so I hope this one is alright.

When we were down 2 games, I told my 2nd grade class that my Hurricane flag needed to be moved in order to get some good luck going for the Canes. There were a few great suggestions, but my favorite was one little girl who suggested that we put it on our bulletin board out in the hallway and draw pictures to hang up around it and the words "Let's Go Canes!" above it. Some pictures are general hockey pictures, others are get well wishes for EC, and some say something about beating the Canadiens. Well, naturally this was done and we won the series.

OK, so for the advice part. Do we make new pictures for the new series, or just leave it as is.

I don't think they will. Its an evenly matched series. The only difference is goaltending. Experience of a world class goaltender Vs. a promising young talent: On any given night, the latter will win. But Martin Brodeur is the best goaltender in world right now and he will probably be the difference in this series. I think we are going to see alot of 1 goal games and OT in this series.
