We're up 3-0. Un-freakin-believable!!

Our boys are in the driver's seat. Pedal to the metal. Get the job done!

They seemed to shake the matinee "curse" last Saturday, so here's to a solid 60 minutes, and great game with daylight to spare afterward!

Puck drops at 3:00PM

LET'S GO 'CANES!!!

You know, a Saturday night would be a great night to open the bottle of wine I've had for awhile...if only it weren't signed by Aaron Ward...Oh well, maybe I can open the much cheaper stuff. :D

He signed the bottle, though, right? Not the wine itself? So, after you consumed the wine the bottle would still be there....

C'mon, guys!! If you can just win Saturday I can go to my doctoral hooding without worrying about having to sneak our early or be late for the game!!

Just one more game!!

Although.....do we want that long rest?

Is the schedule set? Because if Buffalo gets the sweep and we do too, would the rest still be more than 2-3 days?

they'll wait for all series to finish. but, a sw**p in all series is a possibility as of right now. bizarre as it would be. then the rest issue wouldn't matter.

I'd rather not have a week off between games... not when playing so well... no control over it really though.

It's my understanding that every series has a "cannot start before XXX-date" in place.

Hey-- they could get a Rec team to play them in a scrimmage to keep the rust off!

Here's to finishing things on Saturday.

The NHL guys were talking about the schedule yesterday, Monday, sometime recently and said that if all 4 series end really early, then they'd move the schedule up because the NHL wouldn't want to be out of the public eye for a week. Have no idea where they got that info or if it's just opinion, but it makes sense. There is a drop dead last possible date to the playoffs if every series in every round goes 7, but are the rest of the dates set in stone??

For any Devil's fans that are lurking, anything good food at the arena that is a must try?

They still need 1 more - and it will be tough.

There's a viking lady clearing her throat and spritzing with lemon juice in the anteroom. No singing yet, but her brass (bonanza) brassiere is out of its case and being polished.

If there's a team in these playoffs I'm scared of (other than Buffalo which makes me want to duck and cover the way they're playing) it's the Devils. You don't win 15 straight (or however many it was) by accident. Brodeur on a tear can win 4 playoff games in a row.

But let's put the nail in this coffin. Let's put the icing on this cake. Let's find all the cliche's and complete them. I don't care about brxxms so much as not giving the Devils a sniff at life in this series.

Put the hammer down, boys.

As far as Game 4, as long as there is no letdown, and Brindy will not let that happen, I see no reason why we shouldn't wrap this up. The Canes have outplayed the Devils in every aspect of the game, including goaltending, and who thought we'd be saying that??? Let's go boys just one more win and we can all breathe a collective sigh of relief.

Well we all know Jersey ain't going down without a fight. They are mad and frustrated and I don't know if that will be good for them...or us. I noticed on Monday that MB was really tired by midway in the third period. When the puck was in their zone, he was sucking air in big time. I say we clog up the lanes to the net and pound him.

IceSaber

Two days to heal.

The elder Ward is playing like a beast! The poor man is beat all to hell and keeps coming back for more. Hope they get lots of rest and undergo lots of healing on the day off. He's a rock back there and we need him on the pkill.

I'm so impressed with the way the defense has stepped up - I really felt they were leaving both goalies out to dry at the end of the season, but they're doing a great job. CWard's actually changed his style a little - he's a big rebound goalie and he's covering a lot more than he was in the regular season and kicking them further out on the rebounds.

Here's to the D for continuing to clear, here's to the power play for continuing to click, here's to the offense for continuing to produce, and here's to the Canes for continuing to win.

GO Canes - bring us home a 4th victory! Let's finish this series off with our first oppotunity!

THAT's what I'm scared of. Saturday I thought LaRose busted his knee when he flew into the goal post. Everytime one of them goes down like that I started having images of Cole. Then I remember Ward coming back after taking that puck Monday AND after getting wacked last night. Ugh, just drives me banannas...

Anytime any of our guys go down, I just start telling them to "Get up!"
Last night it was, "Get up, Ward... get up, Ward... c'mon, get up Ward..."
I'll just sit there chanting that over and over and over again.

'Course... I do realize that just 'cause they get up, doesn't always mean it's good news... sadly (i.e. Cole)

I'm not too worried there C369, their fans may be kooks- but I totally do not see Lamerello wanting his guys to go out taking runs at people- he's all about the pride and image of the Devils, that what it is, and I just don't see him wanting his guys out there thugging it up. And those drinks after an afternoon game can be interesting... just don't spend 4 hours in a hot tub with a fresh pedicure. :eek2:
Well, my plans just changed for the weekend.

I mean, I'm still getting the pedi, but can't go near the hot tub then!

Staal is too fast and too strong.

Aaron Ward is too much of a warrior. Puck to the face? No problem. Shoulder to the jaw away from the puck? No problem. Back on the ice.

Brindy won't settle for a let-down game to make this into any kind of a series. He wants this more than anybody on the ice.

This is the last game in Jersey for the season. There will be shots, there will be goals, there will be skating, there will be hits, there will be saves.

And there will be a line of handshakes after Game 4.

LET'S GO CANES!

I'm with you man. This season, especially if it ends with a Canes championship; but even if it doesn't, is Brind'Amour's year to prove that he is the man. It's his time to show all those jerks in Philly that we got the far better end of the Primeau trade. It's his time to show all the jerks that didn't give him a shot at the Hart trophy that you have to do a lot more than score 100+ points to be an MVP.

I'm with many of the thoughts here. I don't want to say the "S" word, so I won't, therefore, I am routing for Cam to break the record he now shares with Tiny Thompson.

We all know that the Devs will put up a fight and won't go down easy, but Game #4 is a mental thing. The Devils are in disbelief and self-doubt. They were blown out in Game #1, Game #2 and #3 they tried to thug it up and forced their style and lost. I expect Game #4 to be a lot of the same from the previous two games. NJ will score and the Canes may be down a goal or two, but the Canes' leadership, determination and confidence will prevail.

I just want a good game, well ref'd (if that's possible), a new record for Cam and of course... handshakes.

It's an elimination game. Hardest one to win. Here's the one Marty can steal. But I wonder if it's possible for his play to make up for whatever the gap is between the rest of the two teams. If it could, I feel like he would already have stolen one.

I think there will be a game 5, though. Just because things never work out in the way that's most convenient for my schedule....I don't expect them to start now!

Do you all see the "away from the puck" hits too, or is it just cause it's on tv?

I'm happy we came out of that with only 3 down. It really should have been more had it not been for ward. If they score again time to give him a break.

We knew this would happen. They're getting all the calls...let's hear them crying now. Give em one. I want them to win on my birthday tomorrow anyway.

I'm not concerned, I should be, but the Devils will fade again we will own the 3rd. Our "D" just can't move the puck and they have been in our zone too much so far. We just need to get some quality shots on net in the 2nd and 1 or 2 will get by the "best goalie ever."

Yep, this is the Devils team I'd expected we'd be playing games 1-3. We knew they were good. We just have to be better.

Oh well. C'mon guys - get 2 in the 2nd.

At the very least, start dictating play.

Yes I remember in '03 the Devils got destroyed by Boston in game 4 and came back to win the series in 5. This is very similar but hopefully the outcome will be different in game 5

Thank GOD JD finally mentioned the fact that puck was 50 miles away from KAdams. Not that it changes things, but I was sick of them talking about Jannsen's GD hit w/o acknowledging it was late.

After they'd shown it about 10 times I yelled "BUT WHERE WAS THE PUCK ASSH*LE?".

I was thinking the same thing. Two out of the three goals bounce of are guys. I wonder if we'll see the word lucky in the game story.

On the last play of the period, we fire it in and Cullen is flying in on the right and is hooked with maybe a second left. He went right to the ref..

Oh my lord, Davidson just said what we all knew. The hit on  K adams was interference!

Well, we've got to play in 27 hours, so why not let Cam rest up (while the rest of the squad remembers how to pass/play).

Here's Gerber's chance to gain some pride back AND those guys in front of him have a reason to play harder - just as they did in Rnd1/Game2 when Cam came in.

Good. The announcers now want to see "physical pain" inflicted...let's go and whoop some a$$ on them and see how that works.

Now Marty "is getting it done." Really now....

If it's not his fault then the team is letting him get shelled. Anyone remember Roy's exit in Montreal? No one wants to stand there and get shelled.

It's 4-0 in this game, not even half-way through. But they still have to win 3 more after this. We're in a good position. I agree with the decision....rest him for tomorrow.

Make that 5-0.

while I would prefer the Canes make a game of it, I don't think it's a totally bad thing to have a game like this. a bit of adversity in this round will be helpful for the next round. Buffalo is learning the same lesson and I think Buffalo and our Canes will be going at it in the next round so this could be helpful for us.

I don't think pulling Cam makes a statement of any kind except it's not his day and we have another goalie in which we have faith. Gerber needs some work. this game is most probably out of reach. good for PL to use it for some good. this team does not like the taste of losing and will not want more of the same tomorrow. it's not all bad IMO.

Exactly. And we worked for the bounces we got. The praise would have been true about us after the first 3 games....but it never came. We were just "lucky."
