Tonight's Avs game postponed
By ColoradoAvalanche.com

Wednesday, March 19, 2003 - The Colorado Avalanche this afternoon postponed today’s scheduled game versus the San Jose Sharks at Pepsi Center.

“The safety of our fans is of the paramount concern,” said Colorado Avalanche President and General Manager Pierre Lacroix. “Denver and the Front Range is facing perhaps the most severe storm in its history, and the NHL does not want to put anyone at risk, both fans and employees, in trying to reach the arena for the hockey game.

"The San Jose Sharks have agreed to play three games in three nights in order to allow for the rescheduling of the game, agreeing to go against the bylaws of the Collective Bargaining Agreement, and we are grateful for their concern and cooperation.”

Today’s postponed game will be made up on Thursday, March 20 at 5:00pm. Tickets, parking passes, etc. for today’s originally scheduled contest will be honored.

Can you imagine--up to 8' of snow. I'm from PA and used to 2-4' from one storm...but 8!

SanJose agreeing to do this gives me hope the teams and players can settle the 2004 CBA...

You gotta admit though... if it were only there for just one day, that snow would be pretty awesome.

I'd take several feet of snow, for sure. I don't think you'd have much of a choice to only have it for one day though ;) hehe. but man, I'd love it. big snow rocks :D
