Well cool... where ya from? I was born in Dickinson and also lived in Grand Forks and Fargo. Gotta love that Mike Commodore, huh? :cool:

I grew up in the central part of the state, and lived in Fargo for a while after I got married in the early 90s. NC's a lot like ND, only a lot less frontier and not quite as cold in the winter. ;)

"Tinu" is the diminutive of Mar-teen, which is how the Swiss pronounce Gerber's first name. :D

Our media requests from international media have risen significantly this season, mostly because of the upcoming Olympics and the immense popularity of Martin Gerber in Switzerland. Gerbs (whose European nickname, by the way, is "Tinu" in Europe. If you want to make the Swiss goalie really happy, chant that after a big save. It's pronounced "teen-oo.") has been featured prominently in the Swiss media, including their versions of People and Life magazines. It's easy to understand why, given his performance in recent games. After the game Tuesday night against Detroit, Red Wings head coach Mike Babcock, who was Gerber's coach in Anaheim and is apparently an aspiring comedian, declared after the game: "That Swiss goalie has no holes."

We really need to get this chant going on Sunday!
