I'll start the Game #1 thread on Sunday morning, like always.

In the meantime-- hang out here. And Oilers fans? If you got anything you want to share, feel free to jump in-- just remember this is family friendly board and we treat each other with respect.

OMG, I don't know what I'm going to do with myself for the next four days PLUS going back to work on Monday (on vacation this week). All I know, is that the stars are in line, the prayers have been said to the hockey gods and I am actually contemplating my first trip to Canada since I can't make the games in Raleigh next week...

Here is a toast to all of us who ignored the morons @ ESPN, TSN, etc. who said we'd end up at the bottom. We be goin for that thar big shiney thing!!

:nanner: WHOO HOO!! GO CANES!! :nanner:

I refuse to watch the NBA anymore out of sheer principle. We watched lacrosse tonight after the game... :eek2:

I'm glad for the days off...gives me some time to collect myself. I've had enough stress with everything that's been going on non-hockey, as well as worrying about Game 6 and Game 7, a few days leisure will be welcome! :D

Gives me some time also, to go over groundrules/cope with my Oiler bandwagoner family. They're a bit TOO proud that they pummelled the Wings. Only my mother stays faithful to the Canes with me...ah, the magic of playoffs. :p  Bah. GO CANES...on Monday! hehe

Sesame street live means that practices will be at the rec zone this weekend which stinks because it is going to be so chaotic getting things signed after practice. I prefer just sitting in my chair under the shade of a tree waiting for the team to drive out of the back of the RBC Center. Oh well at least I have a chance to get a few more things signed this year.

**** its already 2:15am I should probably get ready to head over to the RBC Center to get in line.

THOSE ARE SERIOUS "gate prices" DAMN. You're better off signing up for tickets- and getting the discount strip pricing.

I'll just say this for anyone who is bound to complain. This is pro sports. You're paying for the EVENT. The Stanley Cup FINALS.

I have an idea.... why don't we limit SCF ticket pricing discussions to this thread:
http://www.letsgocanes.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6202

First thing I have to do when I get to work this morning, is see if I can arrange to leave work an hour or so early on Monday and Wednesday. I'm not a complainer, by nature, but I am a little whiny that we don't get any weekend games.

Oh well.... at least they don't start until 8:00. We can get in a little tail-gating. Doesn't the business world know they should just shut down for a couple days? ;)

Random thoughts on Edmonton:

4 players on the roster listed from Alberta: a LW, a C, a RW, and a D.

6 players on the roster from Quebec: a C, a LW, a RW, 2 D, and a G. They could field an all-Quebecois team! (And that would be nice to see a 4th string goaltender in there...)

7 players from Ontario, 1 from BC, and 1 from Saskatchewan.

They've got a Minnesotan, a Wisconson boy, a Michigan man, and a New Yorker.

Backup goalie is one of those finicky Finns (Markkanen). 3rd string goalie is Alaskan Ty Conklin.

They've got a Swede and a Russkie on D (Tarnstrom and Ulanov), and a Czech (Spacek).

A couple more Czechs, another Russkie (Samsonov), and that pretty much rounds 'em out.

Horcoff and Pronger lead the team with 17 points, Pisani with 9 goals.

It's fair to say that the SCF is a global event - ever seen the breakdown of nations represented by the 900+ players in the NHL?

It is without a doubt an international one this time around. And Canada wants its darned Shiny silver thing back, thank you very much. I have already heard from two Ontarians here at work that they will of course be pulling for Edmonton.

This time, we are the favorite and it is Edmonton that is the road dog. Beware the bite. This is going to be the toughest series yet, mark it down. Buffalo, bless their black cursed hearts has no one like a Chris Pronger behind the blue line. They also have scorers like Smyth and Peca. Roluson, when he keeps his mask on (something that Lavy should start *****ing about NOW, IMO) is having a career month. He's every bit as good as Miller.

This ain't gonna come easy. I really hope I am wrong, but if Caniacs think they are in for a bye in this series, they may be very unpleasantly surprised. The Canes' players, thankfully, will be much more mindful and respectful of an Oiler team that might be playing the best of any in the playoffs.

We cannot make mistakes against this team. Too many times last night there were turnovers and blunders inside our blue line. We got away with it against a depleted Sabres team, but the rested and healthy Edmonton squad has shown that they can make the opposition pay -- teams like Detroit, who only won the President's Trophy, and lost to the Oilers in 6.

No time to let up now, not for the team, not for the fans.

This is going to be a very tough series. Chris Pronger can dominate an entire game with his 30+ minutes of ice time. They are real tenacious and will give us more to handle than the Sabres could. Gonna be a great bunch of games.

Yes.....the d-man combo of Smith and Pronger play a lot and somehow can't seem to get tired. Pronger has a cannon from the point and the Canes PK tactics will probably work well against Edmonton since they deny shots from the point so well. This is going to be a great series as both teams have a lot of speed and two very hot goalies. In the end I think the Oilers will somehow pull it out as they have done in the previous 3 series. I hope I am wrong as usual but I think this Oilers team is gonna win in 6.

I honestly think we just went through our toughest series. Prongs will cause some problems.... but he can't cover 3 lines the entire game.
He'll probably focus on shutting down Staal... but, what about Brindy's line? (arguably the best line) or, Weight's line ("third" line? Hardly.)

We have more firepower than EDM has had to deal with this post season.

Also, this (IMVHO) is a complete role-reversal from '02. In '02, it was the Canes who had peaked at the PERFECT time. Had everything fall into place at the PERFECT time. It seemed to have been fate the way everything was working out.
And then we ran into a much better team, and we're all well aware of the result.

Here we have the Oil who has peaked at the PERFECT time. Who has had everything fall into place at the PERFECT time (Pisani w/ 9 goals for example). And it's them who are about to run into a Much better team.

Let's Go Canes!!!!!!

From the TSN article about the Canes/Oilers connections and the series.

- With all due respect to the Bell Centre in Montreal, which was fantastic yet again in the first round, the two loudest playoff rinks in the NHL are taking centre stage in the Cup final. And it may surprise Oilers fans just how loud the RBC Center has been.

"You heard the building after our second goal (Thursday night)," Weight said. "I had trouble standing up, getting back on the ice after that. You know, this isn't a hockey (hot bed), it's the South, but we have people that know the game, love the game and support these players and this team unbelievably. I have been so impressed with our fans."

Nice to have TSN acknowledge the bldg and Doug's quote make it beyond the Herald-Sun.

Well I have my Brind'Amour jersey, a plain red Canes jersey, a black Canes practice jersey, a Southeast Champs shirt, a few other Canes shirts...I do have a Whitney Wings jersey I recently found on sale! haha!

Otherwise, I have a few players autographs (courtesy of some awesome LGCers :D), I have various keychains, pennants, pictures, I have my baseball cap proudly displayed near the back window, and my license plate frame, my blanket and my Hurricane jewelry. I probably have TONS more that I'm just not recalling at the moment. I AM a Canesfreak!

Other NHL stuff, I have a Yzerman jersey (obviously lol), a Preds jersey and a vintage Oilers jersey. DON'T WORRY. The family inherited that last one to wear this series...LOL.

I have my O'neill signed sweater, a plain red sweater with about half the team autographs on it, a white team signed sweater from 2001-2002. My daughter has a toddler sweater with signatures and her sweater that she wears to games now which is a work in progress...hopefully have the whole team sign it eventually. Not to mention various hats, t-shirts, car flags and other paraphanalia(sp).

Ooh, this is interesting. Here goes my list of Canes jerseys:

2 Sami Kapanen game worns (1 white, 1 red)
1 Kevin Weekes Jersey
1 Commodore Jersey (recently acquired while in Raleigh)
2 White Jerseys unnamed (1 that I was trying to get signed my the team and 1 I won at a Cool Bars Event signed by the 2002 Stanley Cup Finals team)

Other jerseys: 1 Allstar jersey (I was going to get Kapanens name on it but never did, I think I got it from his last trip to the All Stars), 1 Finland Jersey (again, was going to get Kapanens name on it but never did, but I did get him to sign it ;) ) and the only jersey from another team, a Jose Theodore Montreal Canadiens jersey.

Wow...didn't realize I had that many :D

Kat and I were talking about how, by our observation, the only other arena where you see more fans in the stands actually wearing team jerseys than ours is Montreal. That and I know several people who own multiple Canes sweaters. Now THAT says something.

Actually, Calgary, hands down (although I think we are thisclose to catching them) has people in the stands almost all wearing the Flaming C- It's the craziest damn thing- but so incredibly visually appealing; seemed like everytime they were the 2nd game on HNIC, they'd show the crowd like they always do for all HNIC games during the anthem, and they'd pan that audience and holy cow, they all had jerseys on. It was one of my favorite reasons to watch the Flames on the late night feed.

Oh, for the jersey count (I'm not going down the t-shirt, memorbilia count cause it's embarassingly alot for two adults) Let's see, 2 Staal jerseys (both mine, both purchased online for like $100 bucks this time last year when nobody was buying) 1 Cam Ward (Mr Socal purchased it new for $30.00 on ebay) 1 Brind Amour, (mine) 2 red relplica, 2 white replica and a Cole Team USA jersey. I'm eyeballing a Justin Williams jersey, and my own Cam Ward jersey, but no purchases yet. So yeah, 2 grown people with 8 jerseys. :crazy:But what can you do........ LOL.

WTF has Barry been smokin'?!?

"At one time, L.A. was looked at as an oddity in the NHL, and they overcame that, as did San Jose, Anaheim,'' said Barry Melrose, a hockey analyst for ESPN. "... It's not about where you're located, it's about success.

"A team that goes to the finals two of [five] years, that's almost a dynasty."

Although, really, what other team can say they've been to the finals twice in the past 4 seasons?

Oh....lest I forget. I have the game worn Justin Williams glove that I won at the silent auction this year. Soon after I won it JDub went on quite a scoring tear so I consider it the lucky glove. I place it in the same position before leaving for any game whether I am attending live or if I am watching on the tube. A bit superstitious I am.

Wesley hopes to win a Cup before it's over

Canadian Press

RALEIGH, N.C. (CP) - Glen Wesley and Ray Bourque once anchored the blue-line on a championship-calibre team in Boston.

But the Bruins ran into the powerhouse that was the Edmonton Oilers in the 1988 and 1990 Stanley Cup finals, denying them a title.

Bourque had to go to Colorado to finally win a Cup in 2001, and Wesley remembers cheering for him.

''Oh, absolutely,'' the veteran Carolina Hurricanes defenceman said Saturday. ''I knew he was coming close to the end of his career so I was pulling for him, knowing that you just don't get too many opportunities and that was probably going to be his last.''

Now Wesley wonders if it's finally his turn to sip champagne. It all starts Monday night with Game 1 of the Stanley Cup final against the upstart Oilers.

A stellar 18-season NHL career is devoid of only one thing, a Cup ring. And like Bourque in 2001 and Tampa Bay's Dave Andreychuk in 2004, Wesley will be in the spotlight in this year's Stanley Cup final. On Saturday after practice he patiently answered questions for 30 minutes.

But unlike Bourque and Andreychuk, it's doubtful Wesley will be the rallying cry for the Hurricanes. Their team-first attitude doesn't allow for individual spotlight. Head coach Peter Laviolette struggles when asked to heap praise on any particular player because he doesn't like to single anyone out.

''We all know what Glennie's done and been through in his career,'' said Carolina centre Kevyn Adams. ''Any guy that's been in the league as long as he has you hope he gets an opportunity. But having said that, this team has never been about winning for this guy or that guy, or rallying cries like that, we've been a team and our mentality is trying to win this thing together.

''Of course it's special for Glennie and we hope he gets that chance but that's not really our motivation. And I think he's OK with that.''

No active NHLer has played more playoff games without winning a championship but the 37-year-old Wesley says he's proud of those 162 post-season games, including three previous trips to the final ('88, '90 and '02).

''I look at it this way, I've been very fortunate in my career to play in the final three times and this will be my fourth,'' said Wesley, whose Hurricanes were dispatched in five game by Detroit in the '02 Stanley Cup. ''Looking at it from that perspective, there's a lot of guys played their whole careers without getting out of the first or second rounds. I've got a lot of memories, great memories from those first three rounds and obviously it hurts very deeply when you get to the final and end up losing. ...

''But I wouldn't trade those for a second. I'd rather have those opportunities rather than be bounced out in the first round every year.''

He reached the final in his first NHL season in '88 and little did he know he'd go 18 years without winning a Cup.

''In my first year, because I didn't know any better, I just figured I'd be there again soon. But those opportunities don't come around too often,'' said Wesley.

A third Cup final against the Oilers is fitting for a native of Red Deer, Alta. He was an Oilers fan growing up.

''Growing up I was a big fan of Gretzky - Wayne and Bobby Orr were my two idols,'' said Wesley. ''And then to able to play against Wayne for that long, being the ambassador that he was and the records that he set, that was awesome.''

While the Bruins were the clear underdogs in '88 and '90 against the Oilers, that isn't the case this year. Edmonton was the No. 8 seed coming out the West and the oddsmakers in Las Vegas like Carolina's chances.

But Wesley is wary of the scrappy Oilers.

''They possess everything that I think we have with the speed and the skill,'' he said. ''They have crashers and bangers, too, and of course Dwayne Roloson. And then there's Chris Pronger, Mike Peca and Ryan Smyth, you can go on and on with their lineup and how balanced they are as a hockey club.

''It's going to be a very difficult and physical series and that's what we expect.''

Wesley was traded for a shot at a title in 2002-03 when the Toronto Maple Leafs acquired him. They didn't even come close. Wesley decided to return home. He's spent 11 of his 18 NHL seasons with the Hartford/Carolina franchise.

''When I ended up re-signing here last summer I wanted to see who we were going to sign and what we were going to do,'' he said. ''There were other offers on the table from other teams but first and foremost was to re-sign here. This is where our family has been. I've had a very good relationship with this organization.''

And he'd love to reward the Hurricanes with their first NHL championship.

I just saw the sports on WRAL. They said that we had not played Edmonton since 2002 and the last time they were in our building was 2000 or 2001 (couldn't hear that part). In the last game with them it ended in a tie and Jeff Daniels scored our only goal. Aaron said that would be much video watching tomorrow.

1 Red O'Neill jersey
1 White O'Neill jersey
1 O'Neill All-Star jersey
Kevin Adams' practice jersey (red)
1 O'Neill t-shirt
1 Commodore t-shirt
1 O'Neill stick from practice (temporarily...promised to someone for their Hurri-den ;) )
1 O'Neill autographed stick
Numerous flags, pucks, glasses, pins and calendars
Old ticket stubs
Gamecards
Pompoms, Rally towels and Thundersticks
My treasured commemerative glass from the 2002 series with the Wings

Just bought my fourth jersey tonight. There was a Staal Pro jersey on Ebay and the seller accepted my best offer. So now I have Staal (Authentic), Williams (Authentic), Commodore (Replica), and a Brindamour used practice jersey from an equipment sale. Im staying in my Williams jersey for the Cup so that I dont mess with the mojo, since Ive worn it all playoffs.

Here's the kicker, I bought it from a man in West Vancouver British Columbia Canada. Here's what he wrote me tonight.

Thanks for the quick payment. Enjoy the jersey. I would have kept it but it's too big for me. I hope the Canes/whalers win the cup over the freakin Oilers!!

"You get to this point in the finals, it really doesn't matter who you're playing, even if it was a team in Mexico at this point it would be that intense anyway and that crazy."

- Hurricanes captain Rod Brind'Amour looks forward to playing in front of a loud crowd in Edmonton.

It was probably Aaryn. jk.

Ordered some stuff wayyy earlier in the day. A patch, an EC champs shirt, and a Finals shirt. :) Yanno, I still have my Finals shirt from 02? Faded as heck but MAN, I love it still and it will never leave me. I saw another just like mine a while back, probably a year or so on sale for like $5. It was during the lockout and I was all "Oh I already have one though". GRRR I shoulda got it, cuz mine looks way ragged now. Just has more memories though! Oh I got some of those rubber looking bracelets too. I love those kinda bracelets. Of course, I just love getting Hurricane goodies of any kind in the mail, even though it strains my finances temporarily....but hey, it's a special occasion so there! :p

I keep forgetting to mention this, and don't know where to put it. Back in November my husband put a bet in Vegas for the Canes to win the Cup. It was 25 to 1, and he put down $20. Of course now he's wishing he'd put $100, but we'll take it! :)

Then you're ahead of me! When we returned from game 1, our dog had somehow gotten it off the counter and ripped into shreds (guess her good taste in only ripping Ruff up faltered). Of all the sections to rip - she chose that one. I think she's pissed we're gone so often and knew exactly where we were..

Well, I made this comment in the Ladies Thread, but seeing as I am self-proclaiming to be the world's biggest dork..all the love songs on the radio are making me think of the Canes. There's very few lyrics that don't seem to apply.

My God, I've sunk farther than I thought possible.

My latest? "Do I make you proud" by Taylor Hicks. Yup, that one sent me bawling thinking maybe, just maybe I'd like to see um, a certain scene to that song...

Please help - I've fallen, and I can't get up.

Sorry...I'm sure this has already been posted elsewhere...but I just want to thank this writer. His overconfidence is the kind of things that will be on the bulletin boards in the Oil lockerroom and inspire players to dig that much deeper with their efforts:

I also thought I heard the crowd at RBC starting the "na, na, na...heyyyy goodbye" song after game 2 and would have LOVED it if you did...that's some BAD KARMA!

Oh Geez - they let Caulton start writing. Isn't getting Ned bad enough.

I read some of the sports this morning and then threw the section in my backpack to take with me and didn't have time to read more.

Caulton suck more than Ned Barnett - which means it's really really bad.

My apologies for the article.

As far as the Na, na, na stuff - I didn't hear it in the arena. Not saying some yahoos nearer to a crowd mic might have toyed with it, but it was most definitely not a crowd-wide chant. I woulda spat. :D

No worries...every town has their share of dumb writers. Here's a couple interesting quote's from the Edmonton Journal's Dan Barnes:

"Oilers shooters have been ripped off so often by Ward that GM Kevin Lowe ought to file a police report."

"Playing in front of Markkanen, they needed to be better defensively than they were in the opener, not worse. They needed to be smarter, not dumber. They needed to be disciplined, not careless with their sticks. They needed to score a goal or two or three."

precisely. ugh.

here's one of the very few totally true statements in his article.
In the history of the NHL, three teams have fallen behind 2-0 and escaped with the Cup. It last happened in 1971 when Montreal rallied against Chicago. Rod Brind'Amour was about 7 months old then.

pretty much everything else a bag of ridiculous garbage. the only people that think this series is all sewn up already are a few idiotic media types (on both sides).

and btw- I'm a good bit away from nccanes, and we didn't hear any nah nah nah either. plenty of people starting cup chants (much to my dismay), but didn't hear a single 'goodbye' chant.

OMG... whoever is the guy in that job is going to get a talking to!!!

But you've got to love this...

Cole watches his Carolina Hurricanes teammates from a high perch in the press box. Then he covers their backs away from the rink.

The right winger got into his car Tuesday, the day after the Hurricanes' 5-4 win over Edmonton in the series opener, and heard someone take a shot at Carolina captain Rod Brind'Amour.

An Oilers fan sent an e-mail to talk-show host Jim Rome that said even though he was disappointed his team gave up the winning goal on a busted play behind the net in the final seconds of Game 1, and the fact that starting goalie Dwayne Roloson was knocked out of the series, he was happy his players didn't resemble Brind'Amour -- whose face bears the markings and wear-and-tear of a 17-year NHL career.

Cole picked up his cell phone and speed-dialed the show's producer. Once his identity was confirmed, Cole was on the air.

"You might not look like Rod Brind'Amour, but nothing was uglier than that miscommunication behind the net," Cole said.

How ironic it was that Andrew Ladd scored the first goal after being involved in a play in the previous game that caused a player (just happened to be Roloson) to be out for the season, Just like Justin Williams scored the first goal after being involved in a play that caused Saku Koivu's injury. No bad feelings tended towards either team, I just thought that was interesting. It’s nice to know that the boys have their head in the present game… not the previous.

Somebody at work yesterday asked me if it would still be as good of a win if we do this with Roli's injury. I said injuries are a part of sports. We lost a big piece of the heart of this team when EC went out 3+ months ago but after some bumps we pulled it back together and ended up here. Edmonton's got to remove the imaginary mark on Ladd's back and come back and play hockey on Saturday, not let's-hurt-the-guy-we-blame-for-hurting-our guy (reference to comments in game 2 thread from Wednesday night).

I was like if it happens, it hasn't "Basically been handed to us, they earned it after they all rallied together after losing Erik and they rallied after a scare in Montreal, not to mention many other things." I put forth the "It's a part of sports" thing too, because it's true. It is. The bitterness we hear is all those whose teams aren't playing so I don't think too much of it.

I would rather we have beaten them with Rollie in just because I think our team is THAT good. I think it would have made the series a lot more exciting, although it still may be plenty exciting as it is. But, it would have been nice to show the world that this team is good enough to have beaten them at full strength. I'll take it however we can get it, though. Staying healthy is part of the game. Not checking the opposing team's forwards into your goalie is, too.

For those who comment that our winning would be tarnished because of the injury to Roloson, I offer the following...

The fact of the matter is that that sort of whining provides some great reasoning to help support the selection of JR as 'Executive of the Year'.

Even before Erik when done with his injury, he went out and got Doug Weight, fully believing that he would be a force to reckon with for us in the playoffs. When he needed more after Erik's injury, he went out and got Recchi, again with an eye on someone who could help us a lot in the playoffs for a number of reasons,

Not only did he pick up great, talented players at a relatively low cost, but also great character and quiet leadership at the same time. Perfect for what we needed,

Now take Buffalo, it was pretty well-documented even before the trade deadline that Buffalo needed depth on the blueline... but did he go out and get it? No. I really don't want to hear anyone complain about the injuries to their D-men thinning them too much. He had the chance to have them in a lot better position for the playoffs... but he chose not to! You make your bed, you sleep in it!

Now take Edmonton, I realize Lowe went out and got Roloson at the deadline and it was a great move that paid off very handsomely for them and is probably the primary reason they've gotten this far but... if the thinking is that neither of their existing backups would be able to take them deep if the situation arise whereby Roloson got injured, he could have taken a shot at rectifying that as well... but he chose not to.

Back to JR... look at what we have in terms of depth with guys who haven't played in the playoffs much or at all... on defense (where you're probably more likley to lose someone due to the blocks, physicality, etc. that they are subjected to on a nightly basis) we have Tverdosky, Babchuk, and Hutchison. I'm not saying it would necessarily be an even switch if we lost three of our D-men and had to put them all in, but we would still be in pretty good shape and would still have a good chance to win on any given night.

About the part reboarding on the rink in Edmonton. I thought I'd take this out of the kidney stones thread... ;)

http://www.newsobserver.com/796/story/448934.html

The Edmonton Oilers, meanwhile, appear to have altered the boards at Rexall Place, apparently replacing the runners along the ice behind the net where they shoot twice.

While the other runners along the ice are pockmarked and scarred with black puck marks, the ones in the Carolina end are bright yellow. In theory, the newer runners would lead to bigger rebounds off the end boards when shots miss the net, creating more second-chance opportunities.

I hope we get 8 goals off of rebounds in the 2nd when we shoot at the new runners! It would only be fair LOL

I haven't found these at ch.com, but WRAL has 3 of the newer Jumbotron features available.

I figured some folks who haven't been able to get to the game would enjoy!

Interesting thing I've noted while reading various articles since Game 2, all the articles that talk about what the Oilers need to do focus on defense. Just an idea, why aren't they discussing how to beat the Canes D since they weren't able to do that at all last game?

Bad leg and all? I just can't see that happening. I would rather have a 100% goalie then a 50% Rollie.

I don't understand... so the end where we'll shoot twice is still old, soft runners? Isn't that uh... going beyond "gamesmanship"? Better twist of fate would be an OT winner for us off a rebound after a 0-0 tie through 3.

WTF yeah I saw stuff about this.

Now Craig's telling media 'You never know" about Roli's possible return. :eek2: Hmm...Could there still be no chance, and this be simple mind games, or perhaps there really wasn't that bad on an injury? I wouldn't think they'd fake any of that for sure, or say that he's going to be out if they thought it was something different, but I guess we'll see. :eek2: He wouldn't be 100% would be my guess even if he did return...(ah PennsyCanesFan said it! :) )

I have this question that I keep thinking of when I'm away from the computer.

If Jussi is considered the #2 goalie, why wasn't he dressed for Game 1 as the back up? If he really wasn't considered the #2 guy on Monday, I presume that the Conklin snafu with the puck sent him plummeting down the depth chart?

caniac369

I was wondering that too. Maybe the puck snaffoo did cause him to drop?

If that happens, then he's on a flat tire and that means throw lots of pucks at him and send it deep in there zone and see if he goes behind the net to intercept the puck. Keep him moving (more that he wants to) and stay relentless.

I heard them say on XM204 on Tuesday that Jucci and Conklin were tied at #2 on the depth chart and that they were taking turns dressing as the backup.

For those visting fans that haven't figured it out. This is a Canes message board, and it's one that has a low tolerance for trolls. Gooilers you've done nothing but (at the minimum) trash talk and (up to) plain ol' trolling.

Chad Sokol just did his NBC17 report from EDM, (he's really trying, but he just called the penalty kill, the POWER PLAY KILL- oy) anyway, he just said that the Canes practiced for 30 minutes or so, and that "Eric Staal didn't practice today, But everythings ok fans, he's just resting" (oh ok)

And that Brian DeRoy from NBC17 is also reporting from EDM, did a piece on the 'frenzy' up there- said he spoke with Doog's Brother in Law who is up in EDM to support the Canes, was at the game with his kids and sporting his own Canes #39 Weight Jersey, and he said 'in the first 2 periods, the EDM fans were great, really into it, etc. when the 3rd period came and then Brind Amour scored, people were hurling expletives and things kids shouldn't be hearing at him-and that went on even after they were leaving the building" Yikes.
