So we apparantly have already begun bombing Iraq. I'm sitting here in tears. I really didn't think this was really going to happen for some reason....delusional I know. Hope Bush can manage to say something to make me feel better about this.

Yes, too bad but Saddam had the choice. He'd rather die & cause his country to suffer than relinquish power. We need to thank God we live where we do.

This never would have happened if we'd done as General Schwartzkopf said we should do 12 years ago and pressed on to Baghdad.
*sigh* I've got cousins over there right now--I'm just a little worried about them right this second. Hopefully they (and the rest of our troops) come home safe.

yes indeed, Sadam has a choice. It is a luxury though. Unfortunately the Iraqi citizens have no such choice.
I definitely wish for all the best for our troops.

Well, I'm tired and going to bed (currently 1:36 A.M.) but it has been a very interesting night. Sadaam Hussein came on and basically used his speech as a call to arms to Muslims all over to help defeat the infidels. He referred to Bush as Jr. Bush and repeatedly stated that god was with them and we would be crushed. I've got a feeling we may take some sort of further action in Iraq while we're asleep tonight. There are rumors that Hussein may have been called in our first strike tonight and that the tape of his speech was actually recorded beforehand but I don't buy them.
I think just about everyone here read my stance on the war issue back on the old lgc.com so I won't go into that at all here. I'll just hope for everyone's safety. Sadly, I don't see this war ending anytime in the foreseeable future.

Interesting how the guy has "found God" when it suits him.
The guy's no more a practicing Muslim than I am the King of Siam.

That's so retarded then to use the word "jihad" to his people if he's an athiest.

CBS: 'Senior Officials' Think Saddam May Not Have Survived
Thu Mar 20 2003 10:33:00 ET
"I am being told by several senior officials not to take that taped speech Saddam gave last night as proof that he survived the attack," CBS NEWS reporter David Martin said on air.
"They say the evidence that put him in the bunker last night was very reliable, and they are confident that the cruise missiles and bunker-busting bombs that were fired at that bunker last night hit the target. So now, intelligence experts are studying the tape to determine if it is really Saddam, or a body double which he is known to use from time to time. And they are running a computerized voice analysis, comparing that speech with known recordings of Saddam's voice. But that's a process that takes awhile. So we may not have a quick answer."
"There is considerable belief in this government that they may, in fact, have gotten Saddam."

God bless our troops!
We need to take out any hostilities before they can harm the Iraqi people or our soldiers...if we did kill Saddam, though, the Iraqui regulars will be surrendering in droves, just as they did in Desert Storm.
