Does anyone now how to copy from a DVR to a computer(DVD burner) so I can keep a copy of the game for personal use only.

Out the DVR to a TV-Tuner (HD if your DVR records HD signals) into the computer, edit, burn.

Unless you have a hacked version of a Tivo and have it on your network, where you could just grab the file(s).

The TV tuner is a component in the computer. Adds TV reception (cable or OTA) to a PC. It's like an ethernet card or any other PCI card.

My wife is a woman, I just got my DVR yesterday and I don't read instruction manuals. Sounds like I need to go to TigerDirect to get some supplies. Thanks for the help. Binky: " It scares the **** out of me"
I guess the cat part of my name makes people think female it actually stands for my first initial my wifes first initial and the first initial of my last name.

you folks are silly. for not much more than the price of a tv tuner for your pc (and much less hassle), buy a stand alone dvd burner that hooks up directly to your dvr/tv. :)

Just do what I did, used my old pc, bought a Happauge 150 Media Center Edition TV Card, installed windows media center, found a free media center format to MPG format converter and I can burn any thing I record off the tv to dvd just that easy.... ok maybe not :D

no kidding. we've been struggling to keep ANY room on the dvr from game to game. I forgot to protect a couple Prison Breaks we haven't watched yet, and lost them due to running out of room. :mad:

I can't delete the games even after burning one copy... because I have to make 3 copies of every one. since it needs to be playing on the tv while recording (the one downside to dvr->dvd), I only do one game per night.
it takes awhile. :crazy:

Which means it's a wonder we make it because electronics genius, I am not. General household handyperson kinda stuff, I got. Throw in anything with a freakin' hard drive and I'm totally lost.

We have the DVD burner Guyute's link refers to and other than a few minor hook up glitches, it's been idiot proof.
