I don't mean to be disrespectful but I do have a couple of not-so-hockey related questions:
1. Why do they have the words to the star spangled banner on the jumbo tron? I'm sure you guys know the words...seeing it on TV was kind of insulting to the intelligence of the crowd (it's like the building mgmt is sayin "we don't think those in attendance know the words so we better put them up there").
2. When I visit the letsgocanes.com homepage, there is a game report posted by Jeremy Willis within seemingly minutes after a Canes victory but an article is never posted after a Canes loss???? To an outsider it kind of speaks "fair-weather fans"???
I hope I don't come across stirring the pot...just looking for personal reactions to each (esp. the words to your own anthem...if they put the words up to O'Canada at our building I would be pissed at Rexall).

I don't have time to write up reports after every game. There were plenty of regular season WINS that didn't get a report either.
Beyond that, I don't give a f*ck what you think about it.

I personally think they put the words up for the cheerleader who sings the anthem dreadfully , but truthfully, they've had the words up to the anthem ever since that building opened years ago, and I've not ever had a need to pay attention to it. But I've also been in other arenas/sporting events and the words are flashed up there. Since I know the words to the anthem, it just doesn't do anything for me. Especailly when I'm always looking at our flag, not the jumbotron.

I can't speak for Caniac - cause he typically updates the front page pretty quickly, but you can PM him if it's causing you so much concern, I'm sure he'll have an answer- as for your assertion that we appear fair weather because of an unupdated front page, well you've read the game thread eh? I'm pretty sure nothing in the 20+ pages speaks to fair weather anything.
But then this all goes to my own burning question- why do fans from other teams, find it necessary to come post on a message board for HURRICANES Fans? I've asked this question for 4 ROUNDS now, and round after round, these people multiply, come skulking out of the so-called woodwork and basically annoyed me, and yet not one of these fans has answered the question and frankly, it's friggin' annoying. :roll/

The genesis of my post is probably because I'm getting tired of seeing Oil-killer Staal's big grin on that homeage everytime I load it up because it reminds me of the pain that goal caused when I was at Rexall for game 4.
Anyway...I'm sure the OT loss still stings...but do remember that you are up 3-2 in this series (I had to be reminded like that repeatedly when we lost game four to ANA but were still up 3-1).

I'd say they're mainly up for effect...the fact that they help out the Wilv is just an added bonus.
A little OT, but if anyone is looking for a way to kill some time---polls asking who's gonna win are up on ESPN.com and NHL.com...and the 'Canes are losing in both.

1) Keep in mind our arena is MUCH more family friendly than most.. we have lots of kids at the games. Personally, I don't mind the words. I don't need them by any means but it will be great for teaching my son the song. I don't think it speaks to the intelligence of the fans because the grand majority of us know the words to the American and Canadian anthem by heart. I am sorry you didn't get to hear us sing yesterday, it was great.

I absolutely agree. I vote in polls to put in my "2 cents" but other than that I never really let them get to me. The Soilers are the flavor of the minute with the win last night so whatever. I know who I'm rooting for! Let the bandwagoners have their fun :laugh:
