Promised to bring Cup to Jim in California to drink out of it.

Ok, Jim lives in my neighborhood. Think he would think it was weird if I just camped out on the curb for a few days decked out in Hurricanes gear chanting "We got the Cup, We Got The Cup??" and waited for Erik to bring it by?

It's not going to get me an invite, huh?

:D

See Glen Wesley's Stanley Cup visit to Camp Lejune on tonight's 6 p.m. Sportscenter, only on ESPN!

That means HURRY! Turn it to ESPN!

Sundheim updated his blog...besides Glen Wesley's appearance on ESPN, this is the only media alert:

The ESPYs will air on Sunday evening on ESPN. Cam Ward was the only nominee for the Best Hockey Player category in attendance at the show, which was taped last night, so look for the 22-year-old to get some air time. Cam has been literally all over the map since taking the Conn Smythe as playoff MVP. After the parades, he flew to Vancouver for the NHL Awards. Then back to Raleigh. Then to NYC with Eric Staal for a media tour with the Cup. Then to Calgary. Then back to Raleigh where he threw out the first pitch at the Durham Bulls game. Then to Edmonton. Then to LA this week for the ESPYs (He took his soon-to-be brother-in-law, Brandon, as his guest for the show, since his fiancé Cody opted out with their wedding 10 days away). He gets married next weekend, and then takes off for his honeymoon. Quite a summer for the kid.

There's a show on Fit TV (which is available locally on Time Warner Cable) called "Art of the Athlete" where they detail the history, life, and training of various athletes. Well, we were channel surfing last night and what popped up - one on none other than Mrs. Hedican herself, Kristi Yamaguchi. Although it was about a year old (she was still pregnant with their 2nd child), there were interviews with Bret...plus Kristi emphasized how much she wanted her husband to lift the cup one day ;) It airs again Sunday night at 8 and 11.

Scott Walker made appearances on the Bull and the Buzz today- and let's just say, he'll fit right in. Very excited to be coming and was ecstatic that "The team with the Cup wants me" said he's talked to JR at length, got a call from Lavi and of course the media guys- and while he was on the phone with the Mojo guys on 620, he got an email with his training regimine from Pete Freisen :eek2: - he says "looks like I'm about to get even busier" and started cracking up.

Said he's heard all about the area, and saw how crazy it was here - 'especially that game 7' and he's excited and ready to go.

Yep, he'll fit in nicely......

Thanks for the recap, SoCal. Everyone on the the Thrashers board seems to agree that he's a good character.

Undoubtedly part of the reason that we seem to frequently dominate the 3rd period.

According to a promo I heard this afternoon, Erik Cole is going to be on Hockey This Morning at 7:30AM on XM 204 on Monday. He'll be promoting his charity golf event that's schduled that day in his hometown, Oswego, NY.

CL- wow that's great! I had heard a couple weeks ago Scott and Cam talking about the Golf tourney, and some info that they got about it- XM is appparently one of the sponsors for the event.

Cool- real live programming for a spell, and not the recycled interviews that they've been playing and replaying! ;)

Hockey This Morning at 7:30AM on XM 204 on Monday.

And at 9:30 and at 11:30. ;)

Thanks CL - I've gotten to the point that I barely listen anymore. The shows are short and they use so many of the same interviews that it's mostly retreads (which is understandable). So I'll be sure to catch it at some point on Monday (and then they'll replay it on Power Play in the afternoon, lol).

Thanks for the reminder SoCal, I was in the car and able to listen to the whole thing. Typical KAdams that puts a smile on your face huh?

Funniest thing he said (to me anyway) was about him seeing a Dr in the Buffalo area during the summer (checking on his wrist) and that some big Sabres fan that worked there kept trying to get him to admit that a tiny part of him wanted the Sabres to win. He was incredulous that she didn't get it. Cracked me up.

A caller called in and said he had a family from NY and was trying not to rub it in and Kevyn encouraged him to do so, lol. Sounded like he'd gotten a fair share of grief over things and how the Sabres were battered. He said his standard line was "do you want me to tell you what you want to hear or do you want to tell the truth?".

I believe he said "I want to stay here forever" or something, didn't he? And I liked his comment about taking the Cup win and continuing to "build something special here". He said they talked about it a couple of years ago and really wanted to make the franchise the most respected org in the league.

E hit all the points that I wanted, and you didn't miss anything there missy- I was HOOTING out loud when he talked about that woman in the docs office asking him if 'a tiny party' of him wanted the Sabres to win - UH, HEL-LO?????? earth to dingy Sabres fan- he plays for the CANES!

And I totally loved his little "do you want me to tell you what you wanna hear or do want the truth" I was like, Alright Kevin, he's got the smack talk goin' on......

And he made my day as usual with the "I want to stay here forever" comment. And he did say it exactly as such, which I'm sure everyone who "knows" how Kevyn is can just hear him say it.

After a rough 7 days nursing Mr. Socal back to health, that man, as per usual, made my day. Training camp is just weeks away ya'll! ;)

LMAO - I just heard about CL's souvenir underwear making its way to the XM Home Ice studio.

I died laughing when Cam described them as "Minnesota Wild" colors.

Way to go CL!!! Brought a smile to my face this morning!

Hey ya'll , I'm in the mountain resort town of Ligonier, PA visiting my hub's family, and just as we pulled up the car yesterday and were unpacking and running his MiFi, and one of the guys on Power Play, with Mike Rossi, (Tangrini?I think?) starts talking at length about the Caniacs- and the passion we have down in Raleigh, then he says "and speaking of which, I just got a package in the mail from Canesluver....." and he proceeds to describe the 'swatch of underwear that helped Carolina win the Cup' Mr. Socal froze with bags in his hands and he's like "OMG she's a friggin CELEBUTANTE" (he's been married to me too long, picking up crazy phrases that I tag on people lol) anyway, CL- Mr. Socal loved the note you attached to the undies- and expressing the sentiment of all us diehards.

I think they're like Coach on XM- "In awe of the Caniacs" (btw, anyone else notice how the XM dudes can't seem figure out how to use "Caniac" in a sentence? i.e. "Caniac fans" "Caniac people" I've heard a few different things that cracked me up) E- LMAO: Minnesota Wild Colors? we missed Cam & the Morning guys today - love that description.......

The Legend of Canesluver, XM goddess/correspondent continues! ;)

He, he..... I sent the Hockey This Morning Guys (Cam & Scott) a special "collector's edition" of lucky undies. I did a spoof on the game-worn jersey card, and called it my "game-worn undies" card! I'll have to scan one and post it. I made it look like a trading card with a piece of underwear peaking out of a window, and wrote a little story on it that I call, the "legend of the lucky undies." It was done totally tongue-in-cheek. Very silly.

I was SO embarrassed, though. I can't tell you how many times I proof-read it, and they called me out on messing up Scott's name, which I TOTALLY missed!! Aaaaagggghhhh. I put a "Mc" on the beginning of his name, for some odd reason, and I even went to the hockeythismorning.ca webpage to be sure I was spelling names right. I'll have to do another batch, but man it was just so embarrassing to be called out for being a dumbass on the radio! I did think it was pretty funny, though, that they think I have "spicy" underwear!

I missed the afternoon show. I sent game-worn undies cards to Scott, Cam & "Flair" (Shawn Lavigne), and Joe Thistel who's the Program Director, and Jamie Shalley ('cause he made me promise him on the air that I would). So it would have had to have been Joe or Jamie that Mr. SoCal heard. Cool!! :D
