2006-2007 LGC Fantasy Hockey Leagues

Hey guys! I'll be doing the 3 Fantasy Hockey leagues like I always do. Yahoo is now set up so that we can sign-up.

Here are the settings I am picking for all leagues:

Autopick Draft
All managers will have the opportunity to go in and rank all of the players in the order that they would like them. Yahoo also has a pre-ranked set so if someone doesn't rank their players or just wants the default, Yahoo will automatically do that. Also, you do not have to rank every single player in the NHL, once you are done with the ones you care about, Yahoo can rank the rest automatically.

Maximum Teams in league: 12

No maximum player acquisitions

No maximum trades

Managers have 2 days to protest trades

Last date to trade a player is March 8, 2006

Players are on waivers for 2 days

We will have League Votes on all trades- Accepted trades can be overturned by a vote of at least 1/3 of the members of your league. All league member votes, including the one cast by the commissioner, count equally. Even if no protests are made, the trade will not be processed until the time allotted to protest pending trades in your league has elapsed.

After the draft, all unclaimed players will follow waiver rules so that everyone has an opportunity to try and pick them up.

For Rotisserie and Fantasy Point leagues, the maximum gamers played per position is 82

Roster Changes are allowed daily.

For those that are signed up: I am going to set all 3 leagues to "ready to draft" on 9/28 which means that Yahoo will automatically do the draft sometime between 9/28 -9/30. You do not need to be present for the draft but you do need to set your ranking prior to the 28th if you are not using Yahoo's default rankings.

As always, feel free to give your feedback on the league settings and dates. I am open to changing anything as long as the majority agree. Changes have to be made before the draft though.

For those who haven't signed up: Come sign up and play! Slots are available in every league! The only requirement is that you must keep up with it. The preference is that you log in at least once a week unless you are on vacation or something. No prior experience needed and plenty of people on the boards can help if you have a question. Just post it here!

For those of you who play fantasy hockey:
1. Do you do your own rankings or do you use yahoos?
2. How long do you spend ranking your players?
3. How many players do you typically rank?
4. Do you rank each type of league differently or just carry the same rankings?
5. How long have you been playing?

For me:
1. I always do my own
2. less and less each year as my time dwindles
3. 60ish
4. I usually always do them differently, hope I have time to this year.
5. 4 or 5 years I guess

Good news and bad news....

The good news is, I really like my teams, they are pretty much the same since that is how I set them up. The bad news is, if one goes south the other won't be far behind!

Yeah, I didin't have time to mix up my rankings, and all 3 are fairly close. Same 2 goalies in all 3 leagues... hopefully it doesn't bite me.

My tandem in all 3 leagues is Brodeur and Miller. Could be worse.

Gave up my top 2 rounds to goalies instead of forwards though, so we'll see how that works out. :)

Four leagues and I screwed the pooch in all four in the last two weeks.

After leading most of the season the Charlestown Chiefs went down in the final two weeks in the LGC Head to Head and LGC Rotisserie. Congrats to Lets Go Canes and Knickels.

In the straight LGC league it was second all the way. In my own league with some friends I got nailed at the end there too for third.

I forrest gumped my way through the season and leagues with lucky drafts. :lol:
