Anyone in the north Raleigh area have a good vet to recommend? Specifically with cats? We're up Falls of the Neuse right near Wake Forest so we'd like one fairly close to that area. I really hate to be leaving our old vet but, I'm thinking I don't want to drive over an hour for the furball's shots. :D

I think Quail Corners (somewhere near the corner of Falls and Millbrook) has always had good reviews. I think that is who helped Shell/Guy at the end of Mama's life and were very much appreciated (if I'm not mistaken). I use Hidden Valley, which I believe is affiliated with them as well. We have a pup and have only been there for normal stuff, but so far so good -- but the Quail Corners would be closer to you SHC.

You might also want to try Six Forks Animal Hospital (http://sixforksanimalhospital.com/) (which is where I take the Chancellors). They're very good, their rates are reasonable, and Dr. Price is a Caniac.

Yep! Quail Corners in not our normal vet but they are one of the only emergency hospitals in the area so that is where we took Mama and Suzi this past year. They were really, really fantastic in so many ways. Absolutely great. For me to be this happy with them when I have only been twice, and both resulted in the death of a lifelong friend, says it all. I will definitely use them as my next vet even though they are not the most convenient. I am not sure how their office hours are though since they are so popular, I have only gone in on emergency in the middle of the night so can't speak on normal business hours, just that the vets are great.

QCH is wonderful!! I Adopted my dog Sally from there and her and my cat Linus got all their treatment from there before we moved out here.

My vet is Bowman Animal hospital on Creedmore - right off of 540. They are state of the art but also very caring. when my son's gerbil was very ill, they worked him in right away and when it passed on, the entire office sent a signed card and a book on dealing with the loss of a pet. They have taken care of all our cats for years - through breast cancer to neutering.

We also went to Fisher Veterinary Hospital a couple of times, and really liked it. Just wasn't convenient being in Knightdale at the time. It's right by the 540 interchange at Capital.
