The N&O reported that the players received their championship rings in a private ceremony Monday night.

Has anyone seen pictures of what the rings look like?

That sounds far too logical.....


(..and I realize that whomever works on the website probably works their ass off and doesn't have enough help to do all the things we want -- so the criticism is not of them, but rather the org ignoring a great marketing tool....)

Yep, I remember seeing Tampa's pretty quickly. I was surprised it wasn't in the N&O today. Thought about going to dinner last night at Sullivan's (what I expect was the "local restaurant") to sneak a peek. :lol:;)

They had it at the Savannah restaurant. The reason I know that is the restaurant took out an ad in today's paper thanking the Canes for holding the event there.

The ring is identical to the rings each Hurricanes player from the 2006 Stanley Cup championship team received. It is a 14K white gold ring with the Hurricanes logo surrounding the Stanley Cup, set with quality rubies and black sapphires. There are more than 100 assorted collection quality diamonds on the ring.

The Kids ‘N Community Foundation provides much needed funding to children’s charities and education programs throughout North Carolina. With ongoing support from players, annual special events and the corporate community, the Foundation has funded scholarship programs, youth hockey, educational and literacy efforts, children’s health programs, the arts and other children’s related initiatives. Annually, the Foundation provides cash and in-kind contributions totaling nearly $1 million to charitable and educational programs in North Carolina.

I actually got to hold it and one thing that is not mentioned that is there is that there is an engraving inside that says, "Whatever it Takes."

The rings are 20K each...as my friend said, "It's like having a car on your hand."

Someone told me that they may sell rings at The Eye that are kinda like high school rings, probably not the quality shown above....

I'm a part-time employee and we were told they would be selling replicas and I can't remember what the cost was , but it wasn't $20! They were quite pricey and way out of my price range.

I think MG meant that the tickets for the Ring Raffle would be $20 a chance. I presume they will be expensive, otherwise they'd have listed the price in the release.

The paper said that wives also got rings, but they were probably more like a traditional women's ring and not huge.

During Monday night's team dinner, Hurricanes players and coaches weren't the only ones to receive Stanley Cup rings. The organization also presented rings to their wives. (Or, in the case of defenseman Mike Commodore, his mother.)

AH how sweet! It's funny that they only mention Commie not having a wife when there are a few others that don't either.

Maybe the other single players didn't ask for a woman's ring but Commodore did.

Who else is single? - I think Ladd, LaRose, BrindAmour and Babchuk are the only other single players now - excluding Staal who is engaged.

Found out tonight that I can get a ring. I just have to pay for it. It is a replica of the players rings sans all of the diamonds. Going to have to find a quick way to get some money as the sizing is next week.

All the full-time employees got a version of the ring. I got to see one tonight before the game. His last name was on one side of it, even. He said, even the wooden box it came in was beautiful!

MeanGene, it's a nice one. The photographer at the game showed us his. I actually like it better because it doesn't look so gawdy. But it just doesn't have all those diamonds. It' a keeper for sure.

Gene, have you seen the design for the one you will get? A friend of mine works at the RBC and said he too would be able to buy one but didn't know if it would be an exact copy of the players ring without the name and the stones or if it would somewhat similar but not the same design. IF you got the same one they got you could save up money and put some stones in it to give it a little sparkle. Let us know what it looks like when you see it.

wanted to give everyone a ring update......PK gave full time RBC employees (81 total i believe) a stanley cup ring. they are very nice and very large! however, it is NOT the same ring that was in the pictures in this thread. while i'm sure it is still 5-8k, it is not the 20k or so ring that players and mgmt wear.
rings are from Intergold ltd. in Calgary.

i wonder which ring they will be raffling???

Here is a link to what the employee rings will look like. They aren't as fabulously sparkly as the players rings or the full time employees, but its nice to have a chance to buy a reasonably priced one. They come in sterling or white gold.

I don't know yet. The employees(the lowly concessions , security, ushers etc..) are getting "their day with the cup" on Wed.
The ring representative will be there with the rings on that day. I'll let you know after I see it on Wed.

Actually the ring for the employees doesnt have stones in it. It comes in sterling or white gold. No personalizations or sayings.The ring CL saw was for the small number of employees of Gale Force Holdings not the run of the mill employees.

Well, I got to see the ring and try one on. There are no stones in the ring. It is beautiful! I ordered me a sterling one. Due to arrive in about 5 weeks with my name engraved on the inside. They are going to have a fan ring also. It looks a little different. Cost is around $300 for sterling and $999 for white gold! I don't know when they'll be available.

Got fitted from mine today. I found out that my ring size is 17 which I never knew.

The fan rings look pretty nice too. There are also pendants, charms and other things that can be bought.
