Hey All,
As many of you know, SHC is in London, my hometown, for a conference, and we are going to be hooking up tomorrow night with our families for dinner. Since she may not be able to post while she is here, I thought I would do that for her to keep you all up to date as to our visit. Once she gets back, we both can then post our pics we take together here.
As of now, this is what I can report.
SHC and her party landed in Buffalo and then drove to London. She called me from her hotel at 7:41 PM to let me know she arrived fine, and that they were going to dinner. I suggested they go to a place called "Casey's", which is not too far from where they are staying. UNFORTUNATELY, I had 2 streets confused and ended up giving her directions to the restaurant, but sent her in the WRONG DIRECTION! My bad. I hope they made it, and I will definitely be posting how that turned out. Until tomorrow...........

And damn - SHC brought a "party" with her? Just kiddin'. Have fun and tell her hello for us! :D

LOL, It won't be the first time if she gets lost. I remember being so glad to see their car going into the airport to greet the Canes at 1:00 in the morning since we weren't sure where we were going.. needless to say we just followed them in circles
I'll obviously agree with the above, they are absolutely great people, you'll have a blast with them!

First of all, all messages were passed on. Second, they found some place to eat, and she didn't hold my brain cramp against me. Third, WOW, what a lady!
We met a bit earlier than we had planned, and had a great time at Crabby Joe's Restaurant (a local haunt my wife and I frequent), and we hated to say good-bye. We met at 6:30 and we left each other at 9PM! Her party hadn't slept well from the night before (I had nothing to do with it, she assured me). But we had fun, nonetheless. We talked at great length about our team, much to the displeasure of my wife and SHC friend Deanne. But, we all enjoyed our meals and the "pops"
As my congratulations to SHC winning our friendly Playoff Hockey Pool, I awarded her with a Pacific Crown Royale Authentic Game Worn Dual Patch card featuring our own Rod Brind'Amour and Erik Cole, numbered out of 203! She was totally shocked, and was even more shocked when my wife took a shot of her opening the card! the pic will be up as soon as I have it developed! ;) She then asked if this was the card I spoke about here on LGC.com, but once items enter my Hurri-Den, they don't come out, and she got one of the other 203!
Before we ventured to our vehicles to say good night, she presented me with her gift. It was a BEAUTIFUL satin bag (made by Canesluver [NICE JOB! THANKS!]), with the Canes logo on it, containing an RBC Cenbter/Canes keychain and an RBC/Canes pin. Thes are truly rare additions to my den and are REALLY appreciated.
Unfortunately, she passed on the opportunity to come to my house and see the Hurri-Den and consume my FREE "pops" (as I said, her party hadn't slept well the night before)! But, her husband, MR. SHC, is going to be alone all day tomorrow in London, and has no one to play with! I VOLUNTEERED myself to pass the time for Mr. SHC, as I am now on VACATION! I will keep you posted on how Friday turns out, but I hope he accepts my invitation.
You were ALL right, SHC is a blast, and I hope that I get to meet many of the rest of you soon! My door is always open.

So does this mean that you got the dirt on lgc-ers that SHC knows? Of course, RIO being one of the most exotic lgc-ers might have been one of the few that was conversation-worthy.
I knew no one on lgc personally and I'm so glad I took the plunge and wandered up to 306 (or wherever the goodberry's and beer cart is on 300) to meet some of the folks between periods at one of the games. It snowballed from there. :) Everyone is great and it has really added to the Canes fan experience! It makes games and the occasional practice very fun!!
Anyway - I'm so glad you guys got together and enjoyed your visit!

Hmmmm...306 or wherever the Goodberry's and beer cart is on the 300 level? (takes out a notepad and jots in it) Very valuable information for when I get to attend games this upcoming season. (And hopefully, there will be A LOT MORE of those times.) Looking very forward to getting to meet those of you whom I've not met at practices. :)
BTW, thanks Eileen. :D

No problem, but please don't wander over there based on this post. I think we did this a few times when most of us didn't know each other (which seems like a lifetime ago,). It's been awhile since we've all gathered up there.
Hope you do get to a few more games this year SB. :)

Gee, what a flattering thread! I'm not sure my head will fit through the door of my house now. If I miss Canes games because of this.... ;)
Well, Aaryn is as awesome as he makes me out to be. We had a great time overall in his fine country and I can't wait to go back. I told him he HAS to come down for a Canes game but I think he is scared of all of us. ;) I'd highly recommend a visit with him to others since I not only got an awesome hockey card out of the visit but he also bought our dinner!! Sneaky about it too! Those darn Canadians!
London was a pretty nice town too and we had a few good meals there and some great beer....I'm gonna move to Guelph just for easy access to the Sleeman's!
Toronto was beautiful and awesome, the Stanley Cup is beautiful and I didn't want to leave the Hockey Hall of Fame....and I saw a kid in a Canes jersey there!!! I didn't get to talk to him though....we had gotten trapped in a room showing a film that was gushing all over the Leafs and I almost got Mr SHC in a fight snarking at the home team...bad me! The Maple Leafs Garden was beautiful too. I sorta thought the ACC paled in comparison but I guess it is a much more modern and appropriate facility.
Niagara Falls never ceases to amaze....I want to move there at this point (as long as the Canes come along) and even my pharmacy class was fun. I am, however, still completely exhausted!
Thanks to Aaryn for the good time and it was great to meet you and Melanie! :spin:
And now I see I have a RIO sporking to look forward to! Yippee!! And yes, Eillen, I dished ALL the dirt. :p

No actually.....I touched it and sorta got a little hug in but there were so many people waiting to have their picture taken with it that I chickened out of the kiss. I did get my picture with it (without my jersey though....wouldn't fit in the suitcase and since I couldn't take out the stuff I had to have for school the jersey got the axe   ) and maybe I'll get up the nerve to post it once they are developed and I get them scanned in.
Great time, yes indeedy! :spin:

I would just like to book-end this thread by adding that the offer to come to my neck of the woods and have a good time is extended to all lgc.com'ers.
SHC, I would like to thank you for taking the time to have dinner with myself and my wife, and for bringing the wonderful gifts for me to add to my Huri-Den. This was beyond a shadow of a doubt, the most incredible way of meeting new friends (lgc.com). I am soooooooooooo glad that this place is available to us fans. Rabid or strange or completely nuts, we are all cut from the same cloth (as I found out by meeting SHC in person), and I hope this was just the beginning of something unbelievable.

The gifts I brought were nothing. Thanks to you for dinner and the great hockey card!! It lives on my Huri-Shelf (can't rate a den yet). ;)

Aw heck, a raving goober is nothing compared to a gigantic living blueberry. And people wonder why I scream and run for my life when someone tries to give me a box of Nerds...I never trust a candymaker who looks like Tom Petty in that "Don't Come Around Here No More" video.  :eek2:

Bret Michaels?! I thought Mona got to go home to O! Now I'm confused... ;)
Still, both of them cannot compare to a raving goober...at least a raving goober doesn't get urges to try on all the shoes in the house and raid the fridge. At least I don't think it does... :eek2: ;)
