Hi, has anyone been to Silver Lake Waterpark in Cary? If so, is it any good? We're probably taking the kids to Emerald Pointe this weekend but wanted to see if Silver Lake was decent or not. Any input is appreciated!

I have never been there, but I have friends who have been and they enjoyed it...I have been by there many times....lots of room and varied activities..and it looks really clean too.. Have fun! :spin:

I went there twice when I was younger, and didn't think much of it. But hey, this is coming from a 26 year old who has been out of the 'game' for a while :smoke:

they'll probably enjoy Emerald Pointe more

I haven't been to Silver Lake, but have been to Emerald Pointe. Two totally different beasts I think. Isn't Silver Lake basically a lake (duh) with a few slides and floating things and stuff? Kinda a throw back to the first incarnations of water parks.

Emerald Pointe is a modern mega-water park. I imagine it will be packed with a sea of humanity (;)) on the weekend, but I bet Silver Lake would be too.

Have fun. You're nicer than me! ;)

Yes, I am the best Aunt that ever was ;) It's much easier to be so nice when you get to give them back at the end of the day though....

Thanks all!

just remembered this

my first visit ever to Silver Pond....I mean Lake.....I went down the slide and felt like I was literally about go up over the edge and take a dive. That feeling was horrible. I don't think I ever went down that slide again.

just thought I'd share :smoke:

Dido!!! I remember the "Beast" at Silver lake all to well. I to thought I was about to fly right over the side of the slide. The only problem was the particular area that I cuaght air had dirt under it rather than water. Would have really hurt had I flown over. Anyway that incident scared me for a long time. I am just now 14 yrs. later starting to go on water slides again. Given the choice I would choose Emerald point anyday over Silver Lake.

Silver Lake- The Beast is fun. I have heard about someome flying over the side. Urban Legend? The water is not the cleanest, but I guess it is O.K. Definately the cheapest option.

If you are going to Emerald Pointe, do not go on Saturday. It is way to crowded. Sunday's and Weekday's are the best. The good thing about going to Emerald Point is that if it rains while you are there, and they close the attractions (if it rains, you can not see the bottom of the landing pools and they will close them), you get a free ticket to come back Sunday-Friday. If you do not have discount tickets, Wal-Mart Sells them for $5.00 off, and Credit Unions usually have them too.

Repeat!! DO NOT GO ON SATURDAY!!!!!!!!
