Anyone go to these? Can you get autographs out back afterwards like game day practices or do the players just zip on out of the parking lot?

I was thinking of going to the practice tomorrow (and doing a little Christmas shopping at The Eye). The only autograph left on my nephew's wish list is Staal.

Yeah, they'll drive by the gate and sign on their way out after practices. On game days more often than not they'll pass by and you're not supposed to bother them (ie yell, ask, etc) on those skates. Ive done practices there a couple times and almost think its easier there than at the Reczone. Maybe because they're in their cars and comfortable, they'll even pull their own sharpies down out of their visor to sign with. As always it will depend on their mood and what they have going on after practice.

Im debating going out tomorrow to try yet again for Cory, I keep missing him cause he's tended to skate later than the others doing conditioning and I cant wait long enough. Maybe Ill see you out there.

You can go out back and get autographs on non-game days with no problem (but of course they may change the rules AGAIN so who knows). The guys who usually stop after games will probably stop...but it always just depends.

Good luck getting Staalsy. :)

i'm not sure if they've changed the rules since i lived in Raleigh but normally i'd just park in the East lot..drive down to the players gates....march my butt to the gate and most of the guys stopped and signed but some of them don't (in my days Kevin Weekes rarely stopped...AND ALMOST ran over my neice in his nice little black car he had long story but she won't go to the RBCC gate anymore  )

last year i went on both game days and non game days and i was SURPRISED every single one of the players stopped and signed autographs for me except the injured guys..

good Luck i'll be there in December for x-mas :spin: :spin: with my shirt that says BBG from LGC which i'm gonna make for Hyena (i might be there Nov 25 but i'll be coming from a wedding in Topsail Beach hopefully) but i hope they put the december schedule up soon cause i'll be there from dec 20-jan 3...holllllla

I had heard Weekes was hit and miss on being personable but after the Rangers pregame skate he came straight to the fence when he walked out and stood there chatting with everyone for about 15 minutes.

Hmmm, I was there for that, so I guess I've already seen you out there. ;)

I think you can probably count on 1 hand (a few fingers maybe) the players that *aren't* hit and miss. Weekes was awesome with my kids/me any time we ever encountered him.

When I got my Weekes jersey I wanted it signed (bought it the day the Eye finally received them). I went out back, talked to the security guy. He said Weekes was usually the last one out and I would have to kinda step in front of his Beemer to get the jersey signed. The security guard back there let me know when he was coming out. So, I did (step in front of his beemer) and now have a signed replica jersey :D

I agree, I had the chance to be stick kid once (because I was too young to ride on the zamboni) and on the bench Weekes was one of the few who stopped by when he wasnt warming up. Sami, KAds, and Weekes were the ones I remember. But it was a long time ago, maybe he's changed. But Im going to practice to watch today. I doubt I'll be able to go out back for autographs though. Good luck getting Staalsy!

he was really hit and miss with me. there was an instance in the rec zone where he was talking on the phone and acutally hung up on the guy he was talking to, to sign autographs for myself and my OTHER neice...and when he did almost run over the younger neice it kind of upset me, i mean i'd rather him almost run over me than her since she was so young.

ETA what i forgot....majority of the rest of the team ALWAYS stops to sign for me...i'm only missing a few and that the new guys this year and Ray Whitney (who i must have the worst luck of getting his autograph)

It was a very successful day out back. I got everybody I wanted and even Stillman stopped. Glad I took an extra C.Ward poster. There was a kid there that hasn't been to a game this season and thus didn't have the poster. I needed something else signed by Ward, so I told him if he got both posters signed (which I'd seen Ward do for someone else before), he could keep one. I enjoy nabbing extras of stuff to share with those that can't/don't get them. I keep a Caniac in Amsterdam and another one in Edmonton stocked as best I can. ;)

Gah! You had to go there and bring up Stillman. :fire:  I was debating back and forth this morning and decided Id just wait till the weekend since Ill be around to try for Stillman.

Congratulations on getting the signatures you were looking for.

Just goes to show he does do something. I asked if he was about ready to get out of that blue jersey yet. He's still got a few weeks to go, but I suggested he might want to burn the thing when he's healed.
