Hello To All!

[/b]Wanted to introduce myself to everyone! I am NCIrish, I am 54 married irishman raising my grandchildren (7). I live in the area of High Rock Lake. I am an OLD netminder from days gone-by and follow the Hurricanes with a passion. I have been involved with hockey since the age of 8 in one form or another. I originally hail from Ohio and have been in NC since 1969 and LOVE IT! This is MY Home!
I recently came over to this site after several years of posting on the Canes site. But, I tired of the childish behavior that abounds there. I enjoy discussing sports in an adult and responsible manner. X's and O's and all that. I look at the game from the Goalie standpoint and try to integrate all fans into the discussion regardless of age and expierence. I believe in removing the sentimental element when referring to a players or teams performance. Call it like it is and back it up with solid facts.
I believe in respecting the views of others with the need to resort to name calling and putdowns.
That's why I am here.
I look forward to some stimulating and exciting hockey and exchanging views with all of you. If I am absent for any length of time, I must tell you that my job sometimes sends me away with little or no notice.

I've heard about you at CH.com...the antics over there are indeed tiresome. They're why I am more of a lurker over there...I look forward to CH.com's getting a new board and finally controlling the trolls over there, though I definitely won't ever leave this wonderful place. :)

BTW, very neat that you were a goaltender...if there's any hockey position I'd love to play, it's goaltender. I not only feel that's the position I'd do best at, but I've always found the equipment very fascinating to look at, especially the masks being the art and design nut I can be. :)
