They are all freakin' morons. We didn't come out of nowhere. There was a column in The Hockey News (by Jay Greenberg) about Cinderella teams recently.
Here's a quote:
"The Canes' 2002 run to the final actually followed their fourth-consecutive winning season, so in becoming the worst team in the league this year, they hardly were the NHL's all-time one year wonder."
Those who assert we came out of nowhere are only showing their ignorance about the history of our club.
Not to mention all these mental defects are predicting the future of the Ducks already. They may be right but I didn't think crystal balls were necessarily all that reliable.
Oh...and my personal fav:
Carolina was a huge bust last season.

You mean "when we win it TWICE!" Our team isn't a one hit wonder and I love what the future holds!! :D

unfortunately people believe the reason the Canes even made it to the
playoffs all those times were because of the *weak* division. Can't win
either way. Just have to ignore them.

true puckin.......when the Canes win the Cup ;) , the EXPERTS will be looking for reason as to why the other team didn't win as opposed to why our good play made us win!!

I REFUSE to believe that we were a one year team that came out of nowhere. SHC, as usual, has posted a terrific rebuttal to this bull about us.
We WILL get back to the finals and we WILL win that cup!

This just another one of those "experts" writing their "truths" for all other "experts" to see, much like the ones who predicted that the Devils would dispatch of the Hurricanes in 4 straight in the first round of 2002, and then the Red Wings would do the same in the Finals. I refuse to get into a debate with these people as I have no desire to come down to their level of intelligence.

the people with the least to say always howl the loudest. :| We'll get our feet back under us, and then they'll have to get REALLY creative when they want to write junk about us.

Yep, it will be ALL good and they will have to make bad stuff up....They will be like..hey the Canes are undefeated and there is no way that anyone can catch them...and the RBC Center crowds are awesome and the loudest in the NHL :spin: .....what do we do to make them look bad??? :D ;)

As long as the hockey media establishment resides in New York and Toronto, and with its bitter brothers of ex-Whaler season ticket holders at ESPN, we will be forever screwed in the media until we win and keep winning.
I hear a wind coming across Lake Ontario. Can you hear it? Listen!
wwwaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh....
:)
Only winning cures it.

I hear the winds coming across Lake Ontario (literally and figuratively) ;)
Hopefully we will have more winning seasons to grab their attention like last spring.
